Here's one for veggies, vegans and outraged lefties who think the end is nigh. Analysis finds the carbon footprint of cultivated meat is likely to be higher than beef if current production methods are scaled up because they are still highly energy-intensive. Meat produced from cultured cells could be 25 times worse for the climate than regular beef unless scientists find ways to overhaul energy-intensive steps in its production. www.newscientist.com/article/2372229-lab-grown-meat-could-be-25-times-worse-for-the-climate-than-beef/

not remotely surprised. Homo Sapiens is an omnivore. Which in short means there are many ways to acquire the basic nutrients we need but it’s hard work if a juicy steak is off your plate snd a bloody sight harder if you insist on avoiding dairy as well.

Quite so JoG, I mentioned elsewhere a story about a chap who had cancer and was talking to his specialist. He mentioned that in order to give himself the best chance of recovery he had changed his lifestyle, he had stopped drinking and gone vegetarian. His doctors tone immediately changed. His doctor told him to go directly to a butchers shop, buy a large steak, take it home cook it and eat it. He told his patient that a vegetarian diet will not provide the amino acids he needs.

Just as a matter of interest, has anyone stopped to consider that Vegetarians, or even Vegans, do not need to eat lab grown meat.
There are hundreds / thousands of alternatives to meat which are grown naturally, such as Lentils and Pulses, Beans and Nuts, Mushrooms, Vegetables and Cereals.
Its a personal choice, and though I am not a vegetarian, I eat very little meat and I eat virtually no red meat at all, and I know that I am better off for it.

A vegetarian or vegan diet is not likely to be healthy for a human long tern. The argument really shouldn't be whether it's logically possible to have a healthy vegan or vegetarian diet, but rather what is likely.

Do militant vegans know how many rabbits and other furry animals are shot so they can eat carrots?

Guess this extract from your last Link says it all : “ Eliminating all animal foods would be like deciding you’re going to feed a tiger tofu and expect that it’s going to be healthy. If you want an organism to thrive, you should feed it the diet for which it’s been genetically adapted via evolution down through the ages.” I’m really angry I haven’t been able to enjoy a good steak and REAL meat regular … but my diesel car is still making a FU statement to these assholes who think Green comes from expensive energy-wasteful processing.

Thank you. I don't usually eat steak tbh, I'm not a veggie or anything like that I just prefer other things however, this morning as we perused the isles in the supermarket Mrs R put a nice looking steak in the shopping trolley, she's quite fond of steak. Anyhoo, I looked at it and thought it looked good, so to Mrs R's surprise I had one as well. Partly because it looked good, and partly as a FU statement. And the shopping was loaded into another FU statement, a V8 diesel, and nothing gives me more joy than disapproving looks from EV drivers.

😂👍 … join the Green diesel and petrol Brigade … a higher power likely created ancient tropical forests to generate huge amounts of fossil fuels for just this short 200 year intense Industrial revolutionary moment in our history …
We will burn this all away within another 100 years … long before it does significant lasting damage to the Planet … and 95% tidal/hydro takes over.
Hopefully dumb humans will soon realise expanding desert regions and tree-felling, periodic natural shifts in Earth polarity and increased tectonic activity and volcanism raise temperature levels much more than humans and farting cows!
We must have been pissed when we bought into these laughable notions!
If only EV drivers were mature and open-minded enough to look at the FACTS about the marginal benefits of an EV after environmentally damaging, heavily subsidised manufacture - and marginal running benefits when 99% of the World’s leccy isn’t ‘sustainable green’ at all.
I never see wind farms and solar panels creating 50% of UK energy right now … half of them barely turn … and the others are so slow, I reckon there’s a mouse inside on a treadmill ‘pretending’ the thing is powering the Grid. After Globalist scientists massaging the bollocks out of every fake Green carbon neutral phrase book of buzz words … and blinded the Public into thinking it was to blame for Globalist Environmental Crimes …. where do we now stand … next to Dumb and Dumber watching them fight over an electric charge point. 🤣
If it’s to the death … that will be the Greenest contribution they will ever make in their rather pathetic WOKE existence.
