We can hope that the arrogant Hunt takes some notice and brings down corporation tax swiftly, but I suspect he is playing to someone else's agenda and doesn't want to show up Liz Truss's ideas as being good.

The Tories have now established themselves as The Party Of Economic Incompetence
It all started with George Osborne telling the House in July 2010 that "the deficit will be repaired by 2015, and unless we followed his plan, we would lose our AAA credit rating".
In 2013 we lost our AAA credit rating, and the deficit is still there
Other countries came out of the 2007-08 recession and forged ahead, but not the UK
The Tories cannot grasp the most basic of fundamental economic principles, that growth is the best weapon against debt and deficit, and leads to prosperity.
Lowering taxes alone will not lead to prosperity, all it would do is make the terrible state of our public services, even worse.

So you didn't understand that reducing corporation tax actually increased revenue in Ireland. Buck up, Sidney.

You need to bear in mind that far from starting under the Tories, it started under Gordon Brown who when stealing your pension fund’s right to reclaim Advance Corporation Tax paid on the dividends it received from share investments, fucked your pension fund of 20% of its growth from those long term investments against growth so as to favour the capitalust dream of get rich quick speculation. Strsnge behaviour for a socialist party but hey ho. The downright bizarre antics of Brown gave Ireland the kickstart it jumped to exploit of an offer of a 10% corporation tax rate for any uk based businessman who fancied his chances of starting up a business linked to a bricks and mortar property of any size in tbe republic. And so the shamrock economy kicked off
