Nothing "sour" about it.
A lot of perfectly reasonable people HAVE expressed "discomfort" at the price tag.
He made a completely accurate statement.

Bit rich from the Leader of a Party that is under Police investigation for misappropriation of vast sums of public money I would have thought.

I'm certainly uncomfortable with the price tag for the coronation. Why should the taxpayers foot the bill for a billionaire's fancy dress party?

Bit rich from the Leader of a Party that is under Police investigation for misappropriation of vast sums of public money I would have thought. Indeed.

There's people who have been protesting "not my King", I'm afraid unless we vote in a referendum to abolish the monarchy, he absolutely is.
By all means campaign to have a referendum, and an abolish vote, if that is what you want, but the alternative would be some career politician as head of state like the Yanks have and there would still be a sky high bill for protecting them (urgh).

Is the cost of security your only objection to abolishing the monarchy? The royals are not unprotected. Not exactly riding the bus, are they? Harry may be the exception.

A lot of perfectly reasonable people HAVE expressed "discomfort" at the price tag. What was the 'price tag'? £250 Million or so? A one off in the last 70 years... Illegal immigrants cost us £3 Billion last year, this year, probably more next year and all years to follow. Yes, perfectly reasonable people!

I don't object to abolition of the monarchy IF there is a democratic vote to do so. But until then Charles is our King. Long live the King.
