People are more efficient when they are not tired or fed up, surely even you can see that? So you have evidence that any improvement in this 'tired and fed up' effect will outweigh the loss of working hours?. I doubt it very much.. Look at the trials they had in the private sector to see the evidence.

Look at the trials they had in the private sector to see the evidence. They have not published any evidence. Exactly the same claims about improvements in efficiency and productivity were made to support working from home - yet nobody would now attempt to claim that any Government department provides a better service to the customer now that most of their Civil Servants are not in the office.
