Starmer dodges the relevant questions time and again: As a lawyer he knows about falsehood and prevarication. Boris naming his dad for a knighthood is ridiculous,of course it is they all are eh Sir Keir almost as ridiculous as your failure to answer the question.

The only reason it's distracting is because Starmer and Gray refuse to cooperate. Can you imagine what Labour's reaction would be if the boot were on the other foot? LOL. But the boot isn’t on the other foot any more that a beer during a working day was, however much Boris loyalists would like it to be. The Advisory Committee on Business Appointments is the body that can affect her future rather than a snubbed found-out party that’s scrabbling around looking for dirt… Thank heavens Boris wasn't photographed at a beer & curry bash with 30 people during lockdown, Labour would have demanded his immediate resignation.

It’s just another smear. The Tories set up a distracting inquiry with no teeth, but loads of effluent to sling about. This hasn’t stuck so far because they’ve not found anything to brief their supposed high-ranking leakers with. Gray is best keeping the influential body happy — they’re the ones who can hamper her future… The only reason it's distracting is because Starmer and Gray refuse to cooperate. Can you imagine what Labour's reaction would be if the boot were on the other foot? LOL. Neither Gray nor Starmer are members of the Tory government, so have no duty to dance to the tune of an inquiry set up by a party desperately searching for excrement to throw around to deflect voters’ attention from the diminishing purchasing power of the pound in their pocket after the catastrophic failures and misjudgements of five prime ministers. But the Cabinet Office report suggested to be a bombshell so far appears to have failed to deliver any evidence of wrong behaviour. Gray presented her report in May 2022 and it looks like Starmer approached her in autumn of that year. The announcement of her proposed new role was made in March 2023. news.sky.com/story/sue-gray-labour-held-talks-with-senior-civil-servant-for-at-least-four-months-before-chief-of-staff-role-announced-12872234I guess a key impetus to whatever the Tories try to do now depends on what the local elections throw up…

Starmer has said he wants Gray in post as his chief of staff by the autumn and has described the government investigation into the circumstances of her departure as a 'vendetta'. However Sky News has reported that he was in talks with Gray as long ago as last October, longer than previously thought. Is this why Gray refuses to cooperate with the government inquiry? Anyhoo, it may not matter. It seems Starmer is preparing for the worst, yesterday a spokesman said that Gray would take up the job [Of Starmers chief of staff] regardless of the findings of the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (Acoba). www.thetimes.co.uk/article/keir-starmer-hopes-sue-gray-will-be-chief-of-staff-by-autumn-hfg58lvl5

Starmer made contact with Gray in October 2022. Even the Tories own long-promised report into the Gray-Starmer affair has been unable to show a suspect link. Now looks like the Tory cabinet sources who promised real ground shaking revelations are having to forget all that to make sure their local election excuses are ready if needed…

A reporter on Sky news claims that is the case. Mind you a reporter in the Sun claims something else - so take your pick.

A reporter on Sky news claims that is the case. Mind you a reporter in the Sun claims something else - so take your pick. The salient point being, Starmer has not denied Sky's claims. And Sky News claims: The Labour leader has repeatedly refused to disclose when the first contact between the pair took place. But Sky News understands his first discussion with the top civil servant came last October.
Perhaps you’d like to remind us when Sue Gray’s report was released…

...a situation in which a person is in a position to derive personal benefit from actions or decisions made in their official capacity... Which is exactly what Sue Gray has done, whether intentionally or otherwise. Starmer's dropped a bollock on this one - even if it's totally above board, it's never going to be a good look.

But there's an election looming and more opportune moments may arise closer to the time.
There's no rush.
