There is no clear definition of ethnic cleansing and it relates in the main to FRY and the problems with that break up. However what you have to consider is if a policy, or policies, result(s) in the effective removal and replacement of a specific ethnic group from a geographical area or from public profile then, whether intentional or not, that is a form of ethnic cleansing. Our 'positive action' laws and the race laws are resulting in a lower profile in politics, the public sphere, employment and in entertainment than the numbers would indicate should be apparent and with the preferences so arranged that the immigrant groups will benefit from the selection process. This is widely heralded as a positive thing by government and through law, by business and the 'so what' comment ignores the effects of these laws, policies and actions. It is in the end a racist comment that had it been uttered by a white man seeing the reduction of ethnic minority influence and population and replacement by white groups with similar laws in place would have encouraged cries of Nazi. No, it's just ''so what'' because the colour of a citizen's skin doesn't matter. If it did not matter then there would be no laws which clearly make sure it does matter and there would be no lobby groups that actively sought to work for the advancement of those with the same skin colour. Operation Black Vote is one such group who run schemes, training and mentoring schemes specifically for, and only for, BAME people. www.obv.org.uk/what-we-doOf course they work for racial equality and justice whilst engaging in discrimination and unjust selection. They also receive government funding so it is officially approved.

As an example of the asymmetry, I can hardly imagine the BBC celebrating and applauding if the demographic figures started moving in the opposite direction.
I would imagine they might present the change as some form of emergency requiring urgent attention

I would imagine they might present the change as some form of emergency requiring urgent attention To stop it returning to its 'hideously white' history. It seems language can be pretty brutal in one direction but must tread carefully and be squeaky clean in another direction. That one can actually say that a slight over representation in one ethnic direction makes a group unpleasant and/or ugly seems at best OTT and at worst...

I'm just indicating I find it entirely unconvincing. I find much of what you say to be entirely unconvincing, but at least I'm polite enough not to say you're lying. It doesn't sit well with your local action against buy to rent properties, though, does it?

Ethnic cleansing. You're on form today Benny. Is it the worst thing to happen since the Holocaust? That’s exactly what it is but by stealth ..Nazi lite…a more gentle way . The holocaust wasn’t ethic cleansing. It was pure murder. Strange how lefties can link Nazi rhetoric when it suits them but dismiss it when it doesn’t ..hypocrisy anyone? Agreed, but then again Nazism was born from their Marxist doctrine. They just don't like to admit that Hitler was one of them, because he lost.

White skin has never been a requirement for British citizenship. A British citizen can choose to live wherever they want. That’s true, but that wasn’t the point was it. I’m sure you are fully aware that even opinion polls demand your ethnicity and divide the white population into ‘white british, white irish and white european’ I presume you are aware that prior to 1971 and Ted Heath’s immigration act that brought in a requirement for at least one of your parents to have British Citizenship in order for you to be given it, the only requirement for eligibility for a passport declaring you a British Subject and Citizen of The United Kingdom and Colonies was that your mother have one foot on british, or british colonial, soil when her waters broke. Not convinced that was ever the case fir ‘dependent territories’ though.

Nazism was born from their Marxist doctrine. They just don't like to admit that Hitler was one of them, because he lost. Oh, is it that time again? Because the "Nazism was actually left-wing, really" myth turns up with depressing regularity here. Try reading a book. If you can't stretch to a book, just look almost anywhere.. www.britannica.com/story/were-the-nazis-socialists

People don't "live" in holiday rentals. Such properties don't form any part of the housing stock.
That's why I don't like them.
Beyond that, surely there can be no objection to people living wherever they wish.

It was only an observance Walter not a put down. You are no more or no less a victim of politics than anyone else.

Or are you saying people should stay in their own places and not go on holiday?

One doesn't have to stay in an Airbnb to go on holiday. There are plenty of accommodation options that don't have the effect of removing a house from the housing stock.
Next weekend, a group of people who worked on an abortive film project during Lockdown are meeting up for a "reunion" weekend in Wales (Nothing to do with the Coronation - it was booked weeks before the date was known).
We're using an hotel in Machynlleth. They benefit from 20+ bookings, and we get food and cleaning. Everyone's happy.

People can live where they want so long as 'everyone's happy'? Well, that waters Walter's principle down a bit.
Trying to fit Walter's principle into his revealed preferences - we have to assume thousands of Somalians can / should walk into areas of the UK because Walter is happy with this happening. However, people can't / shouldn't have Air BNB holidays anywhere near him because Walter is not happy with this happening. It all makes sense.

It seems if they cancelled his booking and put up the place to migrants that would be a 'happy' situation as well.

To be fair, Wally has been remarkably consistent in his belief that "No I just figure that they're all people, and people should get to live where they choose."
I don't think he's placing any bounds on the term 'people', either in terms of national origin or immigration status. From that perspective his objection to properties being used as holiday lets rather than as accommodation for, say, Somalians is a perfectly rational stance to take.
