A housing association has been given planning approval to erect a 15-storey tower block in Ealing, with the 102 flats being let to single women only. The flats will be rented at "low social rents to women who face inequality, abuse and disadvantages in the housing market."
"Each home will have a deep balcony and will be designed specifically for women. Details could include slightly lower kitchen work surfaces and careful attention to ventilation to ensure comfort for menopausal women,"
Surely this contravenes the Equality Act?

Haha I can already see the Trans activists protesting outside, demanding they be allowed in.
The problem with this idea is that it suggests women need protecting from all men, not just the abusive ones. What next, an all black tower block because all white people are racist?

It's not women only though is it. It's a joke. Men will be allowed to live in the block if they become a tenants partner, a male who is the adult child of a female tenant will be legally allowed to inherit the tenancy, and transgender women (men in dresses) will also be allowed tenancies. In other words, it's not a women only block. |

It's a sad reflection on our country that something like this is needed and that some people think female security is a joke.

According to the Equality Act, in the provision of goods and services it is illegal to discriminate on the basis of sex.

Iirc more men than women commit suicide and men are more likely to be assaulted. |

What has changed to make it this way and why is a place like this block of flats required first in London? People concerned with female security in places like Bexhill, Liverpool and Scampton are of course called racists. |
