Rishi Sunak will take no further action against former whip Mark Spencer after the PM's ethics adviser concluded he did not breach the ministerial code in his handling of a claim that Islamophobic comments were made in relation to Conservative MP Nus Ghani. Sunak would have been expected to sack Spencer, who is currently an environment minister, had Laurie Magnus found that he had broken ministerial rules in his former government role. Ghani alleged she was sacked as transport minister because she was a Muslim. www.politicshome.com/news/article/mark-spencer-nus-ghani-islamphobia-claim-laurie-magnusCabinet reshuffles are the norm, they are expected and in all the reshuffles I remember, I cant remember any minister whinging or claiming racism or Islamophobia played a part in his/her removal from the cabinet. Does this suggest that Muslims are trouble? Does it suggest that Muslims are very willing to play the race card? Who knows, you make your own mind up.

Well, lets be honest, SW1A 0AA is full of people willing to play the ‘i am black and discriminated against’ card so how long do you think it would be before the cult of mohammedanism pulled the same stunt.

It seems to be perfectly acceptable to attack politicians for being Christians so I don't see why muslims should get off scot free. Musrat Ghani may well believe she got fired for being a muslim. If she was that's tough luck. Alternatively she may just be trying it on. Azeem Rafeeq (the Yorkshire cricketer who claimed "racism") freely admitted that he would threaten the race card to get in the team. It's a good tactic because it's very hard to counter and it always causes a lot of trouble.

It is a game played continuously. 40 years ago I was called racist becasue I designated an Iranian technician to carry out work that involved going outside in the rain (a normal part of the duties and for which wet weather gear was supplied). He obviously did not want to and called me racist for choosing him. At the time I was upset by the accusation. He still went but that changed my view forever. A card played as needed and now has the ring of the boy crying wolf and no one is believed and increasingly people do not care if that accusation is thrown.

Are you saying you've judged and seemingly acted prejudicially against numerous people for the perceived stroppiness of one individual their only connection with was their ethnicity? Sure looks like it and not a good look.

It's a clever trap
You are not allowed to avoid promoting the troublemakers. You have to make yourself vulnerable to attack and you are not allowed to share your concerns.

It's a clever trap You are not allowed to avoid promoting the troublemakers. You have to make yourself vulnerable to attack and you are not allowed to share your concerns. Years ago I was tutoring a Muslim lad who accused me of racism because I had marked down his homework.
So I got up and walked out.
A couple of hours later I got a phone call from his mum who wanted to know what had happened. I explained and she said that she wanted her boy to get at least an A in the maths GCSE and did not care if I beat him with a stick. He did and I didn't and am regularly invited to the Eid dinners.
The problem seems to be that they have the wrong sort of Muslims in Westminster

Shabby reporting by Politics Home Here's the actual report into her allegations: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1149295/Letter_from_Independent_Adviser_to_the_Prime_Minister_040423.pdfAbout the only things it concludes are (a) it's his word against hers and (b) he wilfully misrepresented an earlier investigation (see para 13). Cleared? Not at all

My gut feeling is that its probably this bit that does not ring true
(quote) "In January last year, Ghani alleged government whips had told her she lost her job as a transport minister in 2020 because other ministers had raised her Muslim faith as an issue"
We have a Hindu Prime Minister, we have had a Muslim party chairperson, it sounds an unlikely story to me
