The plot thickens. Police face questions over timing of arrest raid at Nicola Sturgeon’s homewww.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/04/06/nicola-sturgeon-police-scotland-questions-peter-murrell-arr/It seems the actions of the police in Scotland, or ' Police Scotland' as they're called, are comming under the spotlight. There are suggestions that senior SNP party figures knew the police investigation was comming to an end and Sturgeon asked the police to delay her husbands arrest in order to give her time to resign and a replacement appointed.

Sturgeonfurer pulls out of climate change event as police continue to search her home after arrest of her husband Peter Murrell - who has been released without charge. Sturgeonfurer has pulled out of a major climate change event today as her home continues to be searched by police after her husband's arrest amid questions over whether she quit because she knew a storm was coming. The former mayor of Scotland was due to appear at the Edinburgh Science Festival this evening but has cancelled hours after Peter Murrell was released without charge, pending further enquiries, after a day of questioning. Police Scotland yesterday dramatically held Murrell, her spouse of 13 years, and raided the political power couple's Glasgow home, which was searched along with the SNP's headquarters. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11945069/Nicola-Sturgeon-pulls-climate-event-police-search-home-arrest-Peter-Murrell.html

I was idly reading some readers comments today, there was speculation that Mr Murrell might like to take advantage of the nice new Scottish self identity laws and try for a women's prison, one comment was "he might self identify as a tortoise and go to Edinburgh Zoo for fifteen years". I found that quite funny.

The Accountancy Firm that handled and Audited the SNP's Books for a number of years has resigned surprise surprise a couple of days before Murrell was arrested, perhaps they knew what was going to happen, if the SNP's Books are not provided for inspection to the Electoral Commission on time in July, they could face a hefty fine www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/apr/07/snps-auditor-resigns...

MICHELLE BALLANTYNE writes about the collapsing Scottish Government today, she asks some questions that may well be answered in Court Rooms over the next fewmonths, As Ms Sturgeon scurried away into the morning leaving her husband in the hands of the police one wonders if she sat in her car wondering how they went from Scotland’s most powerful political couple to the focus of a criminal investigation.
Has the memory that so frequently failed her in the Salmond Trial Enquiries regained any of its function or has the pressure of politics clouded it forever?
One thing we can probably all count on is that her legacy as First Minister will be scrutinised. Those questions that many asked and were never answered will now be revived.
Why was Derek McKay kept in Government when his personal conduct was questionable? What happened to the Covid Funds? Why were people sent to Care Homes when they were Covid Positive? Why did the Chair of the Scottish National Investment Bank resign so suddenly? Who is responsible for the ferry scandal? Who agreed to sell Tata Steel to Gupta for £1?
The impact of this will not only do what Alex Salmond had vowed to do and destroy Ms Sturgeon's legacy, chances are the SNP will feel the backwash as those voters who actually do want a fair and just Scotland step back and take their vote with them.
Ms Sturgeon led the SNP up the dream hill, showed them an illusion of green valleys beyond but when this is all over what will remain?
Will we be reading a story of a woman whose devotion to her country will inspire a musical rendition akin to Evita or will it be a horror tale more akin to that of the Ceausescu’s.

From that Story you linked to...
Police probing SNP fraud claims have seized a £110,000 luxury motorhome from ex-chief
executive Peter Murrell’s mother’s house.

I thought the missing money (which according to some posters is not actually missing) was to be used towards independence.

So that is why wee Nicola is taking driving lessons. Looking at some of the tweeter nonsense there is a large number of Scottish patriots that believe that this is just a Westminster plot. Thing is, they might just be right, Ricky does seem to be mopping up the problems quite well.

Billions actually, the amount identified as not being passed on to business's is two billions pounds. Never mind a motorhome, you could buy a ferry for that, (almost).
