Its called linear-regression. Nothing new there linear-regression figures go up and down like a fiddlers elbow.......Funny how these ECO pratts never ever mention or make a comment when the figures are down...

Old, thick ice made up a third of the Arctic Ocean ice pack at the winter maximum in March 1985. In March 2020, it accounted for less than 5%.

Yes... and in the 1840s as Franklin found to his cost the NW passage was most years iced up in total with 'old' ice stretching far and wide. The temperature of the planet, and individual places on the planet varies from season to season, decade to decade and century to century. However the point is that the IPCC models say increasing C02 will see a rapid rise in temperature of the planet. We have the increasing C02 levels, we are not seeing the rapid and accelerating temperatures that we were told were catastrophically close unless you and me did away with our cars.

There is no way that anyone can give a true pattern of linear-regression as they would have to collect all the data from across the globe and once they had acheived that and done the maths the figures would be incorrect as the time it took them to work it out the factors had changed. There are far too many variables it cannot be calculated accurately. But you get these so called ECO experts with all their doom and gloom and they will find a figure that they think suits their cause and it's bloody weeks out of date by the time they publish their bullshit.

How long will this "pause" have to last before it becomes an inconvenient truth?

How long will this "pause" have to last before it becomes an inconvenient truth? I would bet it could last twenty years and the ecowarriors will still be telling us catastrophe is just months away.

How long will this "pause" have to last before it becomes an inconvenient truth? I would bet it could last twenty years and the ecowarriors will still be telling us catastrophe is just months away. In fact it is almost happening Climate Alarmists Foiled: No U.S. Warming Since 2005 heartland.org/opinion/climate-alarmists-foiled-no-us-warming-since-2005/"That is because there has been no warming in the United States since at least 2005, according to updated data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In January 2005, NOAA began recording temperatures at its newly built U.S. Climate Reference Network (USCRN). USCRN includes 114 pristinely maintained temperature stations spaced relatively uniformly across the lower 48 states. NOAA selected locations that were far away from urban and land-development impacts that might artificially taint temperature readings."

The last "pause" was manipulated away by deleting sea temperature readings made by buoys, which were inconveniently low - although generally regarded to be more accurate than satellite readings. I think they may be running out of readings to delete though.

It works as well. wattsupwiththat.com/2023/04/10/uclas-daniel-swain-and-nprs-david-romero-collude-to-flood-our-minds-with-a-river-of-climate-fear-mongering/There have been many news articles about the human suffering caused by the floods that inundated the town of Pajaro in Monterrey County, California on March 11, 2023. But NPR’s article This Winter’s Floods May Be ‘Only a Taste’ of the Megafloods to Come, Climate Scientists Warn was the most disgusting example of how Daniel Swain and National Public Radio dishonestly use any tragedy to fearmonger a climate crisis. Alluding to CO2 driven climate change Swain stated, “As disruptive as this year’s events have been, we’re nowhere near to a plausible worst-case storm and flood scenario for California.”
