Warning.....Not good reading for the Remnants. Boris hails 'global Britain in action' after UK secures membership to £11trn partnership Story by Marco Giannangeli - Sunday Express Diplomatic Editor • 40m ago Experts agreed that membership of the £11 trillion Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership would not only boost the UK's economy but - more crucially - allow it to influence the global trading system, ensuring it does not fall prey to distorted Chinese practices. And one step to ensure this is for Britain to use its new-found clout as the bloc's first European member to keep China out, said former PM Liz Truss. In the short term, joining the bloc is expected to provide an 0.08 per cent boost to GDP - a not inconsiderable £2.081bn by today's calculations. However the long-term economic gains could dwarf those of the EUSSR's single market, as Britain enjoys access to a grouping which accounts for 13 per of the world's income and boasts economic powerhouses like Japan and Singapore as well as some of the world's fastest-growing economies such as Vietnam. Business leaders predicted it could eventually turn the UK into an investment gateway for Asia, with US and EU firms pumping billions into UK manufacturing to create goods and services eligible for export. link Still crowing about 0.08% (aka fuck all) Jonksy? Do get a grip

Covid 2020, invasion of Ukraine 2022. Your whinge fools no one. Yes, I know when they happened Einstein. *Rolls eyes* Apparently you don't. Big fall in Sterling correlates to 2016 and the Brexit referendum campaign and result. You now wish to confuse that with 2020 and 2022. Are large numbers beyond you?

It's a trade deal, nothing more, and it's a trade deal the government would not have been allowed to sign if we were still governed from Belgium. The independent UK is not governed by the CPTPP and we don't have to accept immigrants from the pacific rim (unless they enter from the EU obviously) quite obviously this is good news, unless you're a remainiac. Who knew lol. LOL and not an iota of sovereignty lost when we signed up. The USA are also in talks over joining...Not good news for the remnants yet again. It would be worth rejoining the EU just to see your head explode, lol

It isn't a political union and doesn't force shit policies on us like the CAP, or the CFP or freedom of movement of unskilled people.

We're not a global player in trade deals any more. If the USA ever gives us a deal better than the EU gets then you might be able to brag. Won't hold my breath.

Sad part is, if we had never hooked up with the EU we would be 'Thee' global players, being hooked up to that dead weight for almost 50 years has set the UK back by 50 years.

Says someone stupid enough to think that the EU is akin to the USSR. It is difficult to conceive of anything much more stupid than that.

RIP EU. Do you actually believe the shit you come out with? The EU will carry on as usual without us. They are a far bigger trading bloc than we are so we always needed them far more than they needed us. We still do when it comes to trade. And your notion that Leave voters were the intelligent ones is laughable nonsense when you look at the facts. A far greater proportion of Leave voters, for example, never went to university. And they are statistically on average substantially less educated, with lower levels of average attainment in terms of educational qualifications. And they are far more likely to read down-market tabloids from whose pages they are spoon fed the shit they gullibly believe. And you actually think you are the more intelligent ones? lol. With general exceptions like Pacifico who can at least reason logically and sensibly and tries to do so within the realm of facts, the shit most of you post is a delusional wonder to behold. You in particular are one of those who repeatedly demonstrates your intelligence deficit with nearly every idiotic and hare brained post. Still, you do at least achieve the positive effect of making me laugh, even if this is mostly at you and not with you. I have responded to you - and quoted you so that you are notified of it - in the hope that you will be motivated to entertain me further with yet more comedy gold. I am sure any response you make will be class. lol
