The logical conclusion from that is that you should not erect traffic walls around your market and be open to free trade - kinda kills of the EU's Customs Union.. How so? EU External Trade Policy "In these areas, the EU has maintained a system of tariffs and subsidies that protects products made within the EU from competition." and as your link to the Guardian says: "non-tariff barriers are an important impediment to trade that should be a first-order concern, at least on a par with tariffs, for policymakers interested in low consumer prices.”So the EU cares little about low consumer prices then..

I feel quite sorry for the Scot indys. As bad as the politicians in Westminster are they are still making a decent stab at cooperating with the EU, finding a solution to the intractable problem of NI and forging a potentially lucrative trade agreement with the CPTPP. The SNP on the other hand have been so utterly useless, incompetent and ( allegedly) corrupt that the chance of FREEDOM! is now quite remote and the Scot Indys are reduced to a long and whining road in their bid to become Norway. That’s why we need to be kind to them . It reminds me of those fanatical EUphiles who dress us like a smurf to tell us how much they hate the UK just before their Tories = bad rhetoric. I guess it's a sign of panic, which is understandable if undignified. you cant talk to me b4 instead of about me . I wont bite......promise.
this seems to be you projecting your frail sensibilities onto me mate. Im not panicking. Why would i be?
You on the other hand have spent a large amount of time panicking about starmers lead in the pollls , and waffling on about tony blair two decades ago.
Theres nothing more undignified and unsightly than a kipper on a public forum having a meltdown about the forthcoming end of brexit.
20 months mate. Rishi is trying his very best to throw the next election , and let labour in to repair the brexit damage.

Honestly mate , theres no need , as i think your wee country has more than enough problems of its own to deal with.
i love english tory brexiters. The ingenious ways they come up with trying to find new meanings for words in your language to hide unpalatable truths is amazing , and very very funny.
Cooperation and solution is now substitute words for annexation in english?
£1.8 billion over the next decade potentially was it?
When boris said he found a spare £2 billion in the top drawer of the desk at tory party hq to give to ukraine , i did wonder where he got it from ?.
Thanks mate but honestly theres no need. With brexit and the tories reign looking over sometime in the next 20 months , and the kippers delusions of being drunk on fantasy stories of the empire that never happened in real life sobering up rapidly , i return your kind notions for kindness laced with extreme pity.
Wont be long before im saying hello fellow european before too long bentley , to our fellow morris dancing regionalists in north west europe.
The UK isn’t a wee country thomas but I agree that us Brits have a lot on our plate lately. All if the words were used correctly and their meaning was clear . Far clearer than Robbie Burns .😉 CTCPP a little acorn from which a mighty oak will grow tomas. Don’t write Rishi off too soon tomas. The Windsor agreement opens up a more cordial relationship with the EU. There is a lot of white noise and gnashing of teeth but it’s a workable solution . If the Tories throw some money at us before the next election, who knows ? Though I know that you need hope for your bid for FREEDOM! No empire dreams for leavers tomas , that’s just a projection from the sweaties ( and ex remainers)who dream of past times becoming the future . Those salad days of EU membership . Oh and don’t put too much faith in Sir Starmer to fulfil your dreams . Let’s just look forward to a friendly co existence with the EU and more trade with up and coming pacific rim countries …👍

The Scot Indys are trying to deflect. The ex remainers sense that the UK might be gravitating away from the EU and finding a way to co exist at the same time . Its a double nightmare for them. Poor things .

Im still not getting your argument?
Is this some rehash of free trade fantasy as i earlier commented on and brexit delusion about the EU being bad for not letting the uk cherry pick the single market , and have all the pros and none of the cons?
Im still reading up on the CPTPP agreement , but tell me doesnt that also require your uk to lose a bit of sovereignty and play by the rules of the club? Doesnt the CPTPP maintain external tariffs for non members that existing members dont have a trade agreement with ?

We europeans have had a lot on our plate recently , with englandshire voting to leave , cost of living , ukraine war , pandemics etc , but once the tories are voted out in 20 months time , im looking forward to sir keir "making brexit work"

Im still not getting your argument? If Brexit is bad because it puts up tariff barriers between us and the EU and thus makes goods cost more for the consumer (as you and the Guardian claims) then exactly the same logic must apply to the EU external tariff barrier. Or are we trying to argue that one set of tariffs when enacted by the EU is good but when tariffs are enacted by the UK its bad?.

Of course the only time these people tell the truth is when they're dissing Britain. Britian isnt a country mate, its an island .
If you feel something someone says is incorrect , or lies , then feel free to contradict it . Thats what debating is all about.
I did.

Desperately seeking out a salty Europhile rag talking hogwash and whinging because the author knows this trade deal pivots the UK away from the EU's orbit isn't perspective my little nationalist. Shooting the messenger once more buccy doesnt wash.
Like most tory press releases under rishi the remainer( windsor framework best deal in history....reality northern ireland gets annexed further by EU) i suspect as the days pass and more and more people pick apart rishis latest pig in a poke deal , the tories will slide even further down the polls.
Theres no "i " in denial buccy.
How's independence going? How's getting back into the EU going now, what with a new trade deal in the Pacific Tommy McRobinson?

I wonder how many pitfalls await to be discovered by the UK once we are fully involved in CPTPP? Are you saying you haven't any ideas of the outcome or are you just spreading manure? Do you think CPTPP will be an experience of perfection of trading when it comes to dealing with these other countries? Will they be able to bomb the UK with cheap products and excesses from their own countries? Just asking

Lets deal with another piece of Brexiter denial trash posting in this thread... Still 15% down from its pre referendum result value, 20% down from before the referendum was called... Depends which data point you choose, Stevie. See, I remember 2011 when the Pound pretty much reached parity with the Euro. And we were still very much part of the EU. Hence I could claim with equal validity that the Pound has risen from before the referendum. So nice try but no cigar. I'll use the Bank of England sterling index and note the correlation with Brexit because it's the relevant data but nice try to think you could obscure that with our financial crisis money printing issues 2008-11
