I think with this deal being made and the salty responses we're seeing from particular posters means that they know re-joining the EU is now in the distance of the rear view mirror. Correct.👍 You get the leftys moaning about the distance involved, How do they think their computers got here that they use to bash out their Usual BS on. And of course I bet they all have mobile phones etc.

Of course it does you complete idiot. Do you think it costs the same to ship or fly something from Australia as it does to ship or fly it from France? Obviously the further the distance you have to ship something, the higher the shipping costs. A cost that needs to be passed on. Where do you think the EUSSR car manufacturers get their chips from? FFS there are containers ships backwards and forwards on every ocean on the planet each day... The shipping costs of a tonne of chips is almost negligible per saleable item compared to the landed cost a tonne of imported grain…

Wrong, we can re-join the EU whenever we want, it just needs someone with common sense in government. We can’t join the EU a week next Tuesday so you are posting bullshit. The reality is that the UK will trade with the EU , have a cordial relationship with the EU and even join in collaborations with EU countries but it will be joining a trade bloc outside of the EU.

You wish but you'd be wrong, again. But then I know how ridiculous crowing about 0.08% is especially when it comes with attendant risks to UK jobs. Sorry, but you seem bitter about this news. Ho Hum. Bitter no, just appalled that this idiot government have gone for it in some desperate attempt to make it look like Brexit is working. And fatalistically accepting that the various Brexiter drones will celebrate a questionable 0.08% with risks to UK jobs as being the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Poor things 😁

Brexiteers are simply celebrating the sanity of this free-trade agreement juxtaposed with national sovereignty. It demonstrates how the two aren't mutually exclusive. Yipeeeeeee!

starmer demands 'closer relationship with the EUSSR' as Britain strikes mega trade deal...I thought there was a stronger stench emanating from Plymouth today.....I just thought it was the usual sewage outfall. starmer has called for a "closer relationship with the EUSSR" in a lukewarm response to Britain joining an Indo-Pacific trade pact. The UK accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) was formally confirmed this morning and it is the biggest trade deal since Brexit. But the Labour leader said the "yield is very small" as he also called for a "closer relationship with the EU". During a visit to a food manufacturing factory in Plymouth, starmer said: "I welcome any trade deal, but I have to say we need to bear in mind that the net contribution to our economy will be something in the order of 0.08 percent. "What we need alongside that is a closer trading relationship with the EUSSR. "Businesses across the country are crying out for a better deal than the one that the Government has put in front of them. link

And your analysis of the risks to UK jobs through this signing up to reduce/end tariffs to some pitiful wage countries is it seems And all that for ~£70 per household GDP benefit to offset the ~£3.5k damage your folly has done with that 4% hit to the UK Office of Budget Responsibly Brexit Analysis Please say if you need help to work out that that leaves us well over £3k per household worse off (and that's after the Japan and Oz deals too)

The shipping costs of a tonne of chips is almost negligible per saleable item compared to the landed cost a tonne of imported grain… Total bollox... 1 tonne of grain converts to enough flour to make approx 2000 loaves. Off the top of my head, 1 tonne of 8 pin SO-8 chips (at way less than 1 gram each) equates to an more than 10 million units...

But it is NOT JUST CHIPS is it? It's all bloody semiconductors that are used in modern cars.....The VW group have to purchase their semi conductors that bullshit over their emmisions from some far flung location.
