It's clear the only one who can't debate this subject is you, and how do we know that?
Easy, your response of telling others they can't debate, and that's your cop-out, at least be honest about it.
I have just put the idiot on ignore mate.....There was a time when his offerings were pure comedy now its just one line of crap. agree, he's just out to disagree, that's not debating that's just being a troll, I don't mind debating with posters who have different views, but there comes a point when you realise they are just goading for a response.

It’s quite amusing that ex remainers are the ones that have become stuck in the past and Eco worriers are intransigent , impervious to any other view. Imo the government will try to get as many suckers to by EVs and heat pumps before allowing another 10 - 20 years for purchasing imported ICE vehicles and gas boilers . It's also noticeable that Farage-type Brexiteers are the ones who want to return to the past, dislike foreigners, and can't stomach change to the extent they want to retain the old polluting technology they're used to.
This is going to be interesting to see how this all plays out...
The alternatives for the old polluting technology are not in place and giving up the old polluting technology willingly is of course difficult when many of those advising, demanding, that is what we do are traversing the globe in private jets advising here, wheedling there and generally making a nuisance of themselves. It is like a man demanding you must not be racist but then saying he will not have any white/black/brown/yellow (delete as appropriate) people working for him.

Do you mean EV's by any chance or frigging heat pumps for example?

The story i heard was the GERMANS demanded a delay to banning ICE cars because some of their most pricey spirty ones will be too heavy with batteries, and want some sort of fuel whose carbon emissions are offset…
This of course has royally pissed off the other companies who are working to dealing with ev only like it or not.
Unless governments ban sale of petrol (and I would put nothing past the shitheads) real cars will be around longer than me.
Also, its nice to see low traffic neighbourhood roadblocks burning, but strangely the only names mentioned in the news reports seem to be islamic ….

Looks like the UK will follow..... Government 'could abandon plans to ban new petrol and diesel car sales by 2030' after EU waters down its own restrictions to appease German manufacturers Ministers could postpone the UK's 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel car sales after the EU watered down its own restrictions amid opposition from German manufacturers. The agreement passed by Brussels would end sales of new CO2-emitting cars in 2035. But it includes an exemption for cars running on 'e-fuels' – carbon neutral petrol alternatives – after a backroom compromise with Berlin, which has faced furious lobbying by German carmakers. It means the bloc will be able to sell new petrol and diesel cars for five years longer than the UK. Critics of the move – which was announced by Boris Johnson when he was prime minister – have now urged the Government to follow the EU's lead. Ex-Tory leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith told the Telegraph: 'The 2030 deadline for the elimination of petrol and diesel engine cars in the UK is simply not achievable. 'Unless we delay, we hand a massive boost to the Chinese car manufacturers. They are already dominant.' However, a government source today played down the chances of a change of policy. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11914723/Government-abandon-plans-ban-new-petrol-diesel-car-sales-2030.html

Government 'could abandon plans to ban new petrol and diesel car sales by 2030' after EU waters down its own restrictions to appease German manufacturers I can't see how the Government has any other option but to scrap their ban. If ICE cars are going to be legally sold in the EU after 2030 then that will also include Northern Ireland as they are in the Single Market. How the Government could come up with a scheme to ban items on the mainland that are legally sold in Northern Ireland is unclear - as well as cratering any idea that NI is still part of the UK. Looks like we will be buying new diesel & petrol cars for years to come. What this will do to sales of EV's is going to be very interesting..

Don’t expect any announcement soon from the UK government. They will wait for more suckers and well off virtue signallers to buy EVs and heat pumps.

Almost all of the industrialised world now has plans to ban the combustion engine vehicle, including China and India. Virtualy all of Europe will outlaw the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2040 at the latest, indeed Norway will ban sales by the end of this decade. It is not "Virtue Signalling", it is part of the fight to halt, and hopefully reverse global warming which threatens the Earths very existence as a place where life as we know it can exist. Yes in 2023 they have plans. That really doesn't mean that the closer the date comes they will actually implement those plans when faced with electorates that aren't gullible enough to accept the E-Car farce. E-cars just cannot replace the societal utility fossil fuelled cars provide now especially as they are a small fraction of the supposed problem. Rightly or wrongly many of those governments will blink even if it means defying the EU. My best guess is wide exceptions will be made for plug in hybrids with at least 100 km e-range.

It's just so funny. It's been obvious since these daft virtue signalling rules were brought in that it was never going to happen. Now the UK will have to the same thing or what's left if our car industry will disappear. Fucking imbeciles. It demonstrates how Germany dictates Ze Commission's policy with grubby backroom deals.
