The independence movement (say 40% of the electorate) is still unaffected by Scooter becoming FM, the problem is the YES voters need to get the 20% undecided on board, and obviously with Scooter continuing the great SNP tradition of bullshit, abuse, confrontation and venom without even attempting to achieve anything that isn't going to happen.
I should think that Salmond is gleefully rubbing his podgy hands at the moment, he will be hoping to be in receipt of lots of AliBaBa subscriptions to fund his expenses, which of course is all that politics seems to be about in Scotland.
So independence isn't really dead, the same people who supported it before still support it, unfortunately for them they don't have an effective political party to represent their interests, they have been conned by the SNP and will continue to be so, but that doesn't mean that the campaign will go away.

Tell me what the SNP have achieved with their "power" in the following areas,
Independence.
Health,
Education.
Transport.
Women's rights and safety.
Industry.
NHS and welfare.
Drug and alcohol dependency.
Crime prevention.
I believe that they have used their "power" to subvert justice, commit financial crimes and put Scottish women in jeopardy, have lowered the standing and admiration in which the Scots used to be held and have intentionally caused a rift with their biggest trading partner.
However I'm sure that you see things differently, one thing that I'm sure we can agree on is that you are no nearer independence than you were when you started remembering things.

Sturgeon hasnt forwarded independence in the last 8 years its true , but your union is now at its weakest in three centuries on the flip side of the coin.
The republic of ireland gone these 100 years , norn ireland effectivly part of the EU , with a border down the irish sea and unionism on the retreat.
Unionism at its weakest in scotland since the end of the second world war despite sturgeon.
England massively divided on brexit.
The welsh showing some murmerings of discontent .
Empire a distant memory for the geriatrics , with westmisnter nothing more than a servile branch office of washington.
