Sanctions are really bad for business. I profoundly disagree. My uncle made an absolute fortune as chief engineer aboard a vessel whose owning government chose to break a few … Sanctions are an absolute godsend to certain entrepreneurs Ah, happy days.
The Baltic run I dare say? The taxes on and the regulation of alcohol was such that we could buy Scotch at retail prices and still make a 100% profit.
And half of Scandinavia is still shitfaced. Just because a policy is stupid is rarely seen as a reason for government to change it.

So the majority pay > 2x the price, a bit like we do for energy, except it is more like 3x. When will the Brits leant business sense? The proles need to kick these sanctioning bastards out of office.

Sanctions are really bad for business. In time the US sanctions will destroy the US economy. What we need to do is practice free trade, because if we do then other countries will trust us, buy our products and generally be friends. Meanwhile Duncan-Smith the other day was out on the streets with some anarchist protestors insulting China. That man is toxic. As Max said, these people have to go. Rishi needs to pull the party back to sensible business policies. There is some evidence this is what he is intending to do. The Huawei ban is and was a question of national security . Nothing to do with deregulation. He knows this, he knows that the Chinese dictatorship is an enemy government which wishes to spy on us, and just doesn't care.

Do you remember him? He used to run the Telegraph when it was actually worth the cover price. Now it is a trash paper similar to the Daily Mail.
His view is that there is a ultra ideological so-called right-wing of the Tory Party which are those who voted down the latest deal Rishi secured from the EU and have generally speaking been a big pain in the arse. To name names we would be talking about Johnson, Redwood, Duncan-Smith, Mogg, Truss and so on. He says these people have existed for a long time and for decades being arguing with the more moderate Tories such that the Tory Party is in disarray and generally failing. He goes on to say they live in the past. They have this idea of the empire, their arguments usually refer to the past and they are idealogical rather than practical. He believes they are generally stupid, immature and have a total disregard for speaking the truth, so as you can imagine they are very unhelpful when the rest of the party wants to see some results.
Exactly what I have been posting about the Conservatives in the past, even before Right-Wing Thatcher was elected. It is why to this day I have no respect for right-wing Conservatives. (Farage comes to mind). Perhaps especially the comment "immature and have a total disregard for speaking the truth," sums up so many of my comments in the past, as they displace the truth with insinuation and denigration.

This may well be the reason.
This guy went to Radley, which is in the top four public schools along with Eton, Harrow and Winchester. It's a boarding school and the idea is you go there and then go to Oxford and then become an MP or a judge or whatever. He has written a book about it and comes across as pretty intelligent, getting into the deep psychology of the kids at these places. It's pretty much child abuse. He says all that go to these places are mentally damaged for life by the experience.
Bear in mind these places were originally designed to train people to run the British Empire. The system is the same now as it was hundreds of years ago, hence we see why they would be living in the past, and by extension how our country is governed by outdated thinking and systems.
