Significant moment on Question Time last night in the Newcastle under lyme constituency, which went Conservative at the last election after always having a Labour MP.
One of the panelists asked for a straw poll, would anyone who voted Tory last time, vote Tory next time if Boris Johnson was leader
No one person put their hand up
One man stated that he voted Conservative last time NOT because he favoured Boris Johnson, but because he did not want Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister.

Clinton’s actual words were ‘i never had sexual relations with that woman….’ And as a barrister, he was correct. Shoving a cigar case up her and wiggling it around isn’t exactly how it’s done is it But you overlook something. Back in the late 80s / early 90s i was working at an american outfit in the UK and one of the also rans presidential nominees had to quit because he couldn’t keep his trousers on. This was hot on the heels of press shyte about paddy ashdown’s infidelity and major and currie. So i nay have the dateline wrong Anyway my question to the americans i worked with came down to ‘what is it with you prudes. Ffs you cant tell me you wont vote for a president who can’t keep it on ice….. The reply was interesting The problem is not that the wannabe president waves his dick at anything he fancies. The problem is he lied to his wife about it, i was told. And the rest agreed. And then i remembered the pictures of tearful wifey in ‘how could you do this to me’ mode (this wasnt bill and hilary by the way). In the eyes of this group, they expect their president to lie his arse off to them, but a man who lies to his wife is unfit to have the nuclear codes….. A while later i remember seeing Bill and Hilary on Larry King Live. This was his conquest before Monica Larry starts to ask Bill about this Hilary cuts him off in mid question and says right there straight to camera ‘bill told me all about it and i’ve forgiven him for it’ And Larry looks like someone just popped his balloon I guess those guys were right. Now if you ask me Hilary deserved an Oscar for that, and i swear to god if she’d made it to the white house as Mrs President she’d have told the Secret Service if you see the first man skulking about tbe west wing at night, shoot him in the balls…. But the fact is that behaviour on screen only works if those guys were right and if your wife knows and PUBLICLY forgives then uts none of your business ……. |
