At least voters were looking at candidates who were vetted for a record of honesty and integrity.

Blair did a great deal more than the war in Iraq.
And I dont remember him ever squirming excuses or blaming anyone else. Or thinking he was better than or above anyone else. That sense of born privilege that allows him to consider the population as ignorant and controllable.
Of all the PM's since Cameron I think May respected the people most.

The numbers like Blair who still thinks he is are irrelevant.
In Iraq as a result of Bush Blair hundreds of thousands died,the country was thrown in to chaos and there was no plan other than bomb the place and invade,nothing long term and any other conclusion is a falsehood.
Almost forgot best recruiting sergeant for IS and brought greater peril to our shores and elsewhere in the form of terrorism.

Thousands died because of Saddam's refusal to comply with the 1991 Ceasefire agreement. Had Saddam complied with UN Res. 1441 there would not have been an invasion. IMO the people who think the war was illegal or unnecessary need to provide an answer to why Saddam refused for 12 years to comply with the Ceasefire agreement? And had still failed to comply a matter of days before the invasion. Incidentally, before the invasion the US and the UK Air Force were policing 'No Fly Zones' in order to stop the Iraqi Air Force bombing the Kurds in the North and the Kuwaitis in the south. Iraq ended up with an elected government which was one of the intentions of the invasion, the option of democratic elections was offered to Saddam who refused it. The elected government was a Shia government which apparently did not look after Sunni Iraqis. Thus creating ongoing problems within Iraq. It is my understanding that many Sunnis left Iraq and did form the basis of ISIS. The only good thing that came out of the Iraq invasion was that it ended Saddam's domination of Iraq, and his threat to his neighbours (as identified in 1441). Everything else went horribly wrong. BUT if the West had withdrawn from Iraq there is every possibility that Saddam would have created another major war, as is suggested by the number of missiles found after the invasion with a longer range than allowed by the Ceasefire agreement along with his intentions to produce an ICBM. |

Boris was an idiot to allow himself to be at the mercy of his enemies, he was in charge and has to take the rap. I think that in the words of Jane Austin he has delighted us enough and his departure is now overdue.
It is time for him to go off and make a load of money to waste as he sees fit, he half did Brexit I suppose, but what a mess he has left, everything he did or failed to do has made our society much worse off.

Things went pear shaped for Johnson when woke Carrie came on the scene, you could see she was trying to convert him to the woke snowflake agenda, and that was the beginning of the end for him, woke and politics don't mix. |

No they don't and whilst it's an opinion you have a right to voice it is wrong.
Was it ? so you favour regime change policy?
The Arab spring much trumpeted by Blair and his supporters,why do you think it our right to impose western values on different cultures,maybe left to their own devices they might choose democracy,who knows? Anyway how many years did it take for us to form (an imperfect) democracy which was imposed overnight on often unwilling cultures with the subsequent trouble that continues to this day.
