Much of what we have here are the conclusions of what appear to be someone who was or is against the Iraq war doing their foul best to distort many of the points that led to that invasion while exaggerating some of the points against the invasion. If anyone wants to question me on any single point (thus avoiding the tendency of many to throw every single thing including the kitchen sink into the debate) one point at a time, from the report I will willingly take the challenge on. |

The 'informant' Rafid Alwan Al Janabi aka Curveball admitted lying to the USA and UK governments 12 years ago.
He is not in prison.
Tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands are dead because of him.
The invasion of Iraq was an unjustified waste of time, money, and lives.

The article has already been posted, and Sengupta intentions are rebutted by UN Res. 1441. I have no desire to find and to repeat them over and over again. But it shouldn't take long for you to check them out for yourself, in fact I should be surprised that you are not already informed enough to rebut them yourself. |

Read UN resolution 1441, before making further comments on the subject. A few facts. Despite UN Res after Res. requiring Saddam to comply with the Ceasefire agreement that he signed up to in 1991, he had still not, according to Blix, complied with it just days before the decision to invade. A Ceasefire, a break in hostilities. By not complying with the Ceasefire agreement then a state of conflict still existed. Why did Saddam refuse to comply for 12 years ? |
