To be fair to Sid he does raise a valid point. The Tories have been in power long enough and with a large enough majority to change any Law they wish. You have to start asking yourself whether the Tories actually want to stop illegal asylum seekers flooding in - it's similar to legal immigration, people want a reduction in numbers yet the Tories are inviting half the world in. I know that the Tories are more New Labour than Conservative these days so perhaps nobody should be surprised that the doors have been flung open. It's also fair to be said that most of us have actually said the illegal migrants will probably be the deciding factor in the Tories winning the next election.
If they haven't got the message by now, they never will, this has gone beyond politics and has become a national crisis, which means it's a cross party issue.
We've gone beyond political footballs, and playing the blame game, it has to be sorted one way or another, if the Tories can't do it, and Labour wont, then there will be a high price to pay for both political parties.

No point in it being a deciding factor if what people vote for is Labour, nothing will change, the boats will continue, the housing crisis will grow, the economy will be in tatters and alignment with the EU will be undertaken. If it has not been sorted by then then the Tories need sending to prison.
