If you believe that only unemployed get handouts it explains why you are so out of touch.. Oh, you mean the railway bosses. MPs expenses are classed as 'handouts', anything funded by the tax payers is called a handout, including MPs salaries, not just out of work bums, it also includes in-work bums.

BMJ report 2019 In 2017 the UK spent the least amount of money per capita om healthcare than the other countries studied (US, Canada, Germany, Australia, Sweden, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Switzerland). The UK also had the least number of doctors and nurses per capita. A more recent report said that Poland is the only country in Europe with less doctors per capita than the UK. Amount per capita is a red herring because they do not all operate at the same level of efficiency. Doctors per capita is not straight forward either because we have a lot of highly trained nurses that cover tasks what would traditionally be done by a doctor. ie advanced nurse practitioners & advanced clinical practitioners. I think the only true way to judge a nations healthcare is by outcomes. ie speed of assessment, quality of treatment and success of treatment. It obvious that outcomes have gotten worse in recent years, as has people's general health ie epidemic of fat fuckers and sugar addicts.
