Different scale is not helpful.

Satellite observation of the thickness of Arctic sea ice is pointing to the likelihood that it will get so thin that a single large storm could cause it to break up and be carried out into the world's oceans ... leaving huge areas of open water to soak up heat from the sun and prevent it from reforming. The permafrost sea bed could then melt releasing vast quantities of methane which could raise the Planet's temperature by several degrees in just a few short years. If the Earth's atmosphere becomes saturated with methane it would take about a hundred years for it to dissipate (break down into CO2). Then it would take several hundred (maybe thousands) of years for the oceans and plant life to soak up the excess CO2 released by the methane.

You should be on the stage, you'd get more laughs that way. What is the source for this claptrap?

There is a megadrought going on in Europe that has lowered the water level of the Rhine so much that barges are having to limit their cargo to 25% capacity to avoid running aground. If the drought continues it will be the most significant weather event Europe has experienced for nearly 500 years (some say it already is). Climate experts are warning that Europe may be in for a series of such droughts. Industries that rely on water may have to relocate to elsewhere in Europe where there is still water ... and further afield. Large areas of agricultural land may have to be abandoned. People may migrate in their millions to the parts of Europe not affected by drought (the UK?) www.euronews.com/2023/02/22/europe-is-experiencing-a-winter-drought-heres-what-you-should-know#:~:text=Farmers%20fear%20repeat%20catastrophe,500%20years%20%2D%2D%20was%20striking.

One year, a while back, when the Arctic air temperature was considerably warmer than usual (but still below freezing), it was expected that the appearance of the ice on the open water would be delayed .. but it happened EARLIER than usual. Large areas of sea suddenly froze over. The scientists really had to put on their thinking caps to figure out why. It is now thought by some that as the Arctic warms a tipping point could be reached where the date of ice formation could suddenly be delayed so that in a single year huge areas of open water would remain ice free for much longer than usual ... and the planet's weather could go haywire. Global warming, which is presently ticking along at a slow pace, could suddenly become very apparent.

As I've said before the average temperature rise since 1850 is 1.1C, which is arguably less than the accuracy of the measurements - especially when you consider that the way we measure temperature has changed radically over this time. If you represent this on a graph that starts at 1850 and ends at the current day - and offset the zero by 56F - it looks horrific. But that's not science. And when we look back at this period in a few hundred years time it may look like a blip, or have disappeared entirely, like the ETCW - that didn't last long.

The drought is a rare but not unknown event and water extraction has exacerbated the situation.

Global warming, which is presently ticking along at a slow pace, could suddenly become very apparent. Could , could and could. It could also not happen and huge areas of open water could not materialise and global warming could remain in its 8 years pause and go backwards. We do not know. If everyone is worried stop the private jets flying all over the world causing panic wherever they land and spewing massive emissions in the process.
