This was an unfair dismissal case, because the 60 year old woman was forced to resign following the treatment she received after making her complaint. She didn't win a judgment because of the unwanted sexual attention, but because her employer did nothing to protect her from the verbal abuse and threats that followed, causing her to have to resign when the workplace became inhospitable. Do you seriously think that a 60 year old woman, or any woman, should have to submit to being groped against her will and then threatened when she complains? If the lady was 60 years old a case could have been made that she was coming up for retirement anyway and wasn't that worried about losing her job. Her ex employers (and workmates) might have thought it the case a load of bollocks, but that £19,000 was pretty cheap compared with the cost of hiring lawyers and fighting the case. She got the award in 2018 when she was not 'coming up for retirement' as she'd have been ~55 with a pension date when she is 67. This is all about the DM making much about the recent technical ruling that her employers can't have anonymity. All in the article incl for Jonksy that she has a family so likely isn't single.

I don't have to prove anything Jonksy, you're the malicious one making accusations about her but if you actually read articles instead of just headlines you would have seen 'This has put huge pressure on me and my family'
Big word that 'if'

Who with a good eyesight would want that as a partner FFS.. It's clear that you're just trolling for the sake of it now. If you're really this much of a misogynist, why don't you just go and start a club with Mr Von Lotsov?

In the 80s I was a salaried print finishing manager for a while. One of the girls ( that I had previously interviewed and given a job) was a bit over friendly to me sometimes . However one day she approached me and complained that one of the office managers( a man in his 60s) touched her as he brushed past and made ( inappropriate)remarks . As I said , this was the 80s . We never had a HR dept so it was up to me to sort out the mess. After a few awkward words to each side I managed to stop it from going upstairs
My personal take on it is that she was having problems at home ( which I found out afterwards ) , he pushed his luck a bit with some banter ( I don’t believed he touched her) and she took out her problems on him.
The lesson is that ‘inappropriate touching and banter’ to women is in direct proportion to how much those women are attracted to the ‘ abuser’. I never speak to my young girl co worker when I stack shelves in Tescos. I never hold a gaze or smile much too but I do speak to the middle aged ones and sometimes engage in a bit of banter too.

Nothing in your story to evidence that as the universal principle you assert which looks a lot like victim blaming. It can be a factor in some cases but then some people (male and female) are just abusers of others and that seems to have been what happened in the OP case. We had a case where a girl complained of inappropriate comments and touching and the offender didn't deny it but he and his mates positioned the faux 'justification' that she wore short skirts, FFS. Adults should act like responsible adults or get out of the workplace until they grow up.

Adults should act like responsible adults or get out of the workplace until they grow up. Of course it looks like victim blaming to you Steve . Everything does when you want it to. I suspect that in a factory environment you would last about ten minutes before you run and hid in the toilets . I’ve found that young good looking men can get away with far more ‘ harrasment’ to women than old and/ or ugly guys. Of course this isn’t a universal rule but it is a factor and a reality. Stevie , I’ve worked with girls who would fondle you behind the pallets stacks , tell you the biggest size penis they have taken ( even if you didn’t want to know), got the nickname ‘ grub screw’ for giving sex in cars during lunch , took a line up on the night shift , one told me she liked being sexually harassed and more . Talking of attire, we had one girl ( who had a reputation for promiscuity) come into work without a bra. She had huge breasts too. The management told her to put a bra on because the men were distracted. Sparrows never land where tigers roam Stevie boy . That wasn’t the kind of working environment that suited you .

There is no sensible way to regulate this beyond imposing a symmetrical lockdown or just dealing with assaults ect.
Men making 'inappropriate' approaches to women is part of natural pair bonding,. It's possible to skewer this process entirely with enough persistence by continually raising the stakes
