I read somewhere or other that as well as shutting down the North sea oil production the SNP are banning ( their favorite activity) alcohol advertising, this includes advertising for the guided tours around distiliaries, this is a huge revenue source in the tourist season as all the tourists go on the tour and then buy a load of bottles of whisky. The SNP are complete and utter morons, only surpassed in stupidity by the Green Party. I used to visit Israel a lot with work and used to stay in Tel Aviv, it is a great place and I strongly recommend a short break and now you can include a distillery visit, perfect. No rain, no midges, no idiot locals and better beer than Scotland. Yeh as you totally ignore. Whisky contributes £37 per second to the English treasury keep subsidised junkies like you in the manner you are accustomed. As you forget every penny of Scottish tax goes direct to the English treasury. Are you sure you were not gubbed by a Jock when you were in the RAF. Or one ran of with your wife. I shall watch democracy in action with the SNP election of the new leader with keen interest. It is amazing that two of the the three candidates have expressed concerns over the honesty of the process, the fact that figures are not being declared indicates that those conducting the election may be trying to conceal something, it is alleged that some people have concerns that those who have left the SNP and former members who have passed away may be included in the count, thus ensuring that the "continuity candidate" wins the prize. Democracy is going my way actually, we are out of the EU, have a Tory Government and the Union is rock solid, nothing wrong with democracy, you might like to try it in Scotland with your dodgy SNP election. The election results were suspect because more people wanted Kate Forbes to be FM than Scooter MacMullah. The candidates suspected it was rigged which is why two of them lodged a complaint. The "continuity" candidate didn't because he knew it was in the bag.

Scotland under the SNP has really gone downhill I have to say growing up in Scotland in the 50s and 60s there was a certain pride in being of the Scottish education system and also being subject to the legal system. I am not sure how and when that disappeared but the SNP have certainly overseen the last flickering lights that put Scotland head and shoulders above most others in education and legal excellence and we are now just also rans in the worldwide mediocrity of both. |

My wife is English and finds the rain, the midges and the idiot locals (a fair smattering but not all), a lack of good ale and the 50p minimum charge per unit are not compensated by the cheaper housing. |

What really happened is the Scots were told they were voting for one thing, which kept them inline for all the things they never voted for, which is just par for the political course. While in the meantime politicians feathered their own nest egg allegedly, a bit like Easter 365 days a year. So, I guess the SNP will eventually have to say they are not one of ours. As they have been caught.
