I think Borchester likes to make tightwads look loose. The way I see it, when the children are young you always need 50% more cash than any man can earn in any reasonable occupation, but as to the rest, you can always get by.

That happened a couple of decades ago when the kids left university and I discovered that all those notes in my wallet were not spoken for, but actually mine to spend.
The great things about kids are the joy they bring and the amount of spare cash you have when they finally walk out the door
