I'm not, I'm just pointing out the reality. If it wasn't true neither country would be having a problem with illegal immigration. True but France is off loading some of it’s problem on to the UK. |

I'm not, I'm just pointing out the reality. If it wasn't true neither country would be having a problem with illegal immigration. They're two separate issues. Britain is inundated with boatloads and lorryloads of immigrants because the UN regulations areway out of date and need revision and the UN need to get more involve with those countries where immigrants claim they are subject to oppression. France, as an EU member suffers the same problem, to which you can add FOM permitted by member states that allows immigrants to cross any and evey border it wants. The problem has always laid at the door of mainland EU nations and when the likes of Hungary try to stop it, they stand accused illegally stoping illegal immigrants. Ya couldn't make it up but plenty do just that. |

Last nail in the coffin of the Licence Fee.. People I've spoken with over the past few years at the Beeb aren't in the least bit worried about the "threat" of losing a Licence Fee. They either switch to being funded directly from general taxation (like many state broadcasters), or they adopt a subscription model - in which event they'd be riding the velvet pig (and, ironically, Netflix would be having a few sleepless nights..). |

Every country in Europe is signed up to the ECHR (over 40 countries) all are committed to allow asylum seekers into their country. All have the problem of 'illegal migration'. These illegal migrants go to wherever they want to go. There are no laws at present, least none that I am aware of, to stop them. I don't doubt that many countries would love to be able to stop this explosion of migrants into their country, the problem is that until these problems are legally addressed we appear to be stuck with it. |
