In recent years we have watched supine and closet lefties in the Tory Government stand back and watch hordes throw statues in canals, block roads, daub Sir Winston Churchill and cancel anyone they choose. Now, under Ricky, there seems to be a push back, he fronted up Sturgeon and she ended up walking away, now the BBC have reluctantly taken steps to address their appalling bias, with lefties like Marr and Maitlis leaving, now they are standing up to the serial and unrepentant disobedient crisp salesman. I hope that they immediately dismiss Linaker and all those glossy non entities that are refusing to do their job. The money saved could fund repeats of only fools and horses and little Britain. I cannot recall the last time I read such risible and deluded and in fact an utterly false load of bullshit as the pile of crap above |

Attenborough may be the darling of the left, but on many occasions he has called for population growth to be cut. Indeed, a few years ago he said the human population should be halved. I wonder what the sainted Greta and like minded lefties think of that.
They should volunteer to commit mass suicide for the good of the planet. After all, it's not like any of them ever do anything useful.
If doing something useful were a criteria for the right to life, you and most of the old right wing duffers around here would be dead already |

I wonder what the sainted Greta and like minded lefties think of that. He is not the darling of the left. That is just something you imagined or made up. What he is is a highly knowledgeable expert on the natural world, everything that lives on it, and our impact upon that world. Any opinions he expresses are likely to be informed by that knowledge and sensible people should listen, even if we disagree. For my part I do believe that overpopulation is a growing problem. Ideally, we need to be reproducing at a lower rate than we are dying for a century or so so that our numbers gradually diminish. Problem is, this would leave our societies top heavy with elderly people, which is sustainable only if many more of these remain economically productive for longer and/or they receive less in handouts than at present paid for by productive workers. A declining birth rate is necessary for our numbers to stop increasing, let alone fall, but this involves tough economic decisions and some severe economic dislocation of a kind I have broadly alluded to above. |

Own the BBC that is.
Last year the licence fee was frozen, which means that by now inflation has meant an effective cut of 10%. And there won't be an inflation linked rise for another year, if then.
So Auntie has no desire to rock the boat and will do as she is told until April 2024, when the horrible truth will dawn that no one likes paying the licence fee anyway, where upon the kickings will continue unabated

I claim no benefits or pensions and pay my taxes to help support many of the ungrateful old bastards around here I'm grateful for yopur contributions as others have, in the past, been grateful for mine, which, I am certain, were in excess of yours. I also managed to pay into a private pension scheme that almost prevents me from claiming additional benefits. However, there are certain benefits I could claim but don't; these will no doubt be used for the benefit of hard done people like yourself. |

But not me, Shrieky. You see, I'm younger than you and earn way more money so my tax contribution is far higher. And I'm a key-worker providing essential infrastructure that you use. And I'm a shareholder, part owning companies whose products and services you use (and perhaps even the one that you work for). So I contribute to all the things that you don't, because you don't pay enough tax to do that. And through my work, I provide lots of the things that you need and through my investments I probably even provide your employment. But hey, no need to thank me. The knowledge that people like you owe everything to people like me is sufficient. |

Asylum seekers have a right to go through other safe countries to come here and unless you want the government to withdraw from the convention that Winston Churchill himself was involved with that will not change. As an example Ukrainians did not have to stay in the first safe country they came to. Calling people an "idiot" is a sure sign that you have lost the argument. Calling someone an idiot when they have posted an idiotic claim ( as you did ) is a sure sign that they are an idiot . Migrants do not have a right to illegally enter the Uk. Ukrainians generally did not pay traffickers to illegally enter the UK . Please refer to my first sentence . Explain to me, carefully, what was idiotic about my post. Migrants do have the right to enter the UK by irregular means. Ukrainians passed through safe countries to get to the UK. |
