One of my friends has a kid, a very young kid who is pre school age, his kid is talking and has very recently started speaking the name of someone she could not possibly have heard of through them, or any normal means.
That name is not in any of the books she reads, cartoons, or anyone at the nursery she goes to.
She says it was her name in a previous life. And that person crashed.
You know me, pretty skeptical, but also open minded. You ever come across anything like this?

Best explanation that keeps within normal accepted reality -
The kid started saying a name and the parents showed surprise and then the child picked up on the expectations

She's two. Except for a nursery (in which there's nobody of that name, they checked) she has no other human contact than her parents. She is even saying that name in her sleep. The name of a man.
A man she could never have heard of. Over and over and over again, completely out of the blue and says he crashed. She says that's who she used to be in a previous life.
How did she come across that name ? Where does a 2 year old get the idea of reincarnation from ?
I'm stumped.

Although this might shock parents … it’s happened many times before: This case has similarities. …. and some cultures and religions rationalise it along these lines of philosophy: youtu.be/iOpONlYn35cHope this helps. I think the parents in the first clip did the right thing by recording all the details relayed … researching as much as possible to connect the ‘spirit’ with it’s past … giving it ‘closure’ by a certain age …. so the child can move on and live it’s own life and become a new person with fresh opportunities.

What is interesting in some of these cases is the possibility of gender confusion occurring to some individuals who have memories of a past life as a different person (of a different sex) - I wonder if this could linger on in a new born’s psyche … these intangible feelings of being disconnected, being “someone else” … persisting through puberty and possibly even into adulthood?
You hear stories in the Media of some people who go through life convinced they are the wrong sex …. cross-dressing as a man or woman to feel their true selves. Maybe looking at past lives through hypnosis might be an interesting avenue to explore …. where individuals might need help ‘exorcising’ a past life existence that has lingered beyond a certain age.
Personally, I think some gender confusion today is increasingly down to chemical and hormonal imbalance … (the Pill) residues circulating in water supplies (see studies on sex changes in fish and wildfowl). …. some possibly due to environment, Internet influences and puberty experimentation/confusion …
… It’s an interesting idea that puberty might be the process we all go through ….around 7 years, 14 years and 21 years according to Rudolf Steiner and other philosophers… that shrugs off the ‘shroud’ of our previous lives … as we transition into our new true selves … and wrestle to assert our own ego to fit our new physical body.
As we dream and our consciousness touches the multiverse ether from where spirit mostly resides … it’s likely we reconnect periodically with residue memory fragments of these past lives again … some times experiencing ‘deja vu’ moments of recognition of places and events.

When all rational explanations have gone out of the window, whatever is left, however irrational it may seem, should be explored as an option.

Perhaps we are situation similar to our ancestors, who were stood on a spinning ball and had no knowledge at all of this fact.
If people are reincarnated then there is a mechanism that makes this happen - presumably some kind of soul that has a temporary connection with a body?
I have some rhetorical questions for Dubs - if this is the true nature of the world, what might a suitably advanced tech that exploited this look like?
What would an alien invasion look like?

I have some rhetorical questions for Dubs - if this is the true nature of the world, what might a suitably advanced tech that exploited this look like? What would an alien invasion look like? I think we are better equipped than our ancestors because the Internet has now given every person easy access to knowledge of the afterlife and multi-dimensionals …people more readily share their personal experiences and patterns emerge … some expressed within the maths of quantum equations. Witness reports of materialisation and dematerialisation throughout history are linked to Religious Dogmas … some of these beings are physical like us - possibly travelling through worm-holes … with highly advanced technology few get to see from the inside. Ethereal beings(angel-type higher beings?) … more advanced than us in our basic ‘spirit’ form … don’t need to undergo repeated ‘improvement’ on the training ground of Planet Earth … judged and reconfigured after each ‘life-cycle’ as to being worthy of another shot to evolve into something more advanced? => reincarnation. I’ve heard it said the ethereal body is attached to the physical body by a non-physical ‘chord’ of indeterminate length called the Nodus … which severs on death. A high electric shock could sever this chord … I have heard accounts of people travelling out of their physical bodies to different locations … having to avoid electric pylons, encountering physical living and ethereal dead people … even entities and creatures from ‘heaven and hell’ scenarios depicted by medieval artists.… Who knows what is out in these multi-dimensions …or the technology they possess? Alien Invasion isn’t necessary … Aliens have always been here running the Earth Eden Project…

Energy cannot be created, or destroyed, we are made of it, it has to go somewhere.
How, dunno?
But I'd be interested to find out more possible explanations.

Because grant distribution is controlled by super rich religious factions … they have been reluctant to openly fund serious research developing detector instrumentation that may tread on ‘God territory’ and reveal the ‘nuts and bolts’ aspects of the religious experience … detected, explained and rationalised. ….. because ‘demystifying God phenomena’ … could seriously damage the economic model of the Priesthood. … middlemen financial brokers when it comes to selling ‘spiritual trans-gression’ 😋 However, behind closed doors, funding and investigation has been significant. www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/military/ufos-warp-drives-stargates-freedom-of-information-query-reveals-secret-list-of-pentagon-research-projects/news-story/0c1fcffd8aa60239744648eb5c56ddedHere is an interesting article that suggests Western Governments were researching the espionage potential of moving around in the ethereal realm. mysteriousuniverse.org/2023/02/When-Government-Agencies-Secretly-Work-in-the-Field-of-the-Supernatural-and-the-Occult/Note this extract: “ In no time at all, and mirroring the Collins Elite, Operation Often became something of a secret order, one that was dominated by disturbing phenomena, the study of ancient and priceless books on the occult, and a long list of notable characters. As evidence of this, the personnel on-board with Operation Often were soon mixing with (among many others) fortune-tellers, mediums, psychics, demonologists, astrologers, Satanists, clairvoyants, and even those that practiced sacrificial rituals – such as the followers of Santeria. In essence, Gottleib and his team were looking to hit and pummel the Russians and the Chinese with hexes, curses, bad luck, ill health, and even death – and all by engaging in Faustian-like pacts with paranormal entities from dark and disturbing dimensions beyond ours. Volunteers on the program were placed into altered states of mind, in the hope that doing so might provoke out-of-body experiences which, then, would allow mind-to-mind contact with anything and everything that might be on the other side, such as demons, devils, and who knows what else? To what extent the program worked is open to debate. Not because the data is sketchy. Rather, the data and the results of the work of Operation Often remain classified – decades after the program was initiated in the late-1960s. This begs an important question: if Operation Often achieved nothing of significance, why not let us know? Where’s the harm in that? That the CIA flatly refuses to release it files on the project strongly suggests that some success – maybe even a great deal of success – was achieved. Of course, when you deal with the Devil, there’s always a price to pay. Perhaps the nature of that price remains classified, too.” As we notice Western judgement disintegrating … Deep State appears to have ‘sold it’s soul’ to something really quite DARK and SATANIC. Maybe in their manic McCarthyite obsession to grab the technology and means to reopen the Cold War conflict and instigate the destruction of Russia and China … they opened up a portal to something truly evil that took over our Administration? … where morality ‘left the building’ … and the George Soros Posse crept in? A bit off topic from the OP … apologies for that. But still multi-dimensional in nature.

Taking Vinny's story at face value, opens up a Pandora's box of outlandish possibilities.
If souls (we) can exist without bodies, or can move from one life to another, then the notion of (say) a demon is not much of an extension to the idea.
Demonic possession would just be an inappropriate attachment of the same nature. What is the true nature of extreme dissociative identity disorder?
Vinny, the story as you describe it doesn't have a rational explanation - except coincidence or the child being encouraged to come up with the story.
A story of that type is very advanced for a two year old. Most two year olds can't even really report a story.

She says it was her name in a previous life. A two-year-old used the words 'previous life'. Really? One online site tells us that parents should be looking out for phrases such as 'all gone' and words like 'shoe, nose, etc.', as a sign that their 2-year-old child's language development is on track, but this 2-year-old is using language like 'previous life'. Wow! That's a genius right there. As for the name, there are any number of places a child could have picked it up. The real marvel here is the child's extraordinary language capability. That's to say nothing of its grasp of time. While older children have to have time explained to them in terms of 'sleeps' (6 more sleeps until Christmas), this child has rocketed ahead, intuitively grasping the concept of an entire 'life' of time. Of course, the child could have just picked up the name from the TV and the whole 'previous life' thing could be the product of a series of leading questions from simple-minded parents. Or the parents could be having a joke at Vinny's expense. Both of these alternatives could be wrong. But both are still infinitely more probable than what Vinny is proposing.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor Attributed to William of Ockham, a 14th-century English philosopher and theologian, it is frequently cited as Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem, which translates as "Entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity" … if only I had brought a modicum of knowledge and linguistic ability to the table as a 2 year old … treat it as a gift!
