Government considered cull of all 11,000,000 cats in the UK at start of Covid pandemicI am on occasion absolutely staggered at the crass stupidity of the people who are in charge of this country, and this is one of those occasions. OK it wasn't carried out, but the fact that it was even talked about is staggering. Did they for one moment think people would willingly hand over their beloved pets? Christ this is beyond the realms of fantasy. There isn't a snowballs chance in hell that people would give up their much loved pets. Who knew? My cat caught feline coronavirus in 2012.

Some years ago the Chinese in one part of China ran a campaign against a particular species of bird that was damaging crops ... without the birds the crop yields went down. What would be the effect of "doing away" with cats? When rats decide to move they send out a scout ... if a cat gets it, if it doesn't return, the rats go elsewhere.

Yes quite a lot of Swans get killed hitting Electricity Cables strung from Pylons, reason being they can't see them even though like other birds have superb eyesight, their eyes are set on the side of their heads their forward vision is not great they can't see the cables that well |
