The Court of Appeal has made it clear that alleged Asylums Seekers rescued in the Channel and brought ashore in the UK can now be prosecuted in a UK Court in line with new legislation , the Court overruled a Judge who decided they could not be, that Judge did not fully understand the new legislation. Asylum seekers who arrive in the UK illegally after being rescued at sea can be prosecuted lawfully under new legal powers, the Court of Appeal has ruled. Provisions in the Nationality and Borders Act, which came into force last year, were considered by leading judges after a hearing in London last month following appeals by three Sudanese men who are due to stand trial for immigration offences later this year. Parts of the act were introduced to close a perceived loophole in the law which meant migrants crossing the English Channel could not be prosecuted with entry offences if they did not reach UK land by themselves. Two of the men are alleged to have assisted unlawful immigration by steering dinghies containing other migrants across the Channel, while the third is charged with attempting to arrive in the UK in a dinghy. They challenged preliminary rulings, made by Mr Justice Cavanagh at Canterbury Crown Court ahead of their trials, with their lawyers arguing the judge had incorrectly interpreted the new laws. From todays Evening Standard Every Little Helps as they say Well spotted Handyman, and excellent news. However I'm not putting up the bunting just yet. Prosecuting them doesn't mean much. The important question is, will they be deported. www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/court-of-appeal-asylum-seekers-london-justice-channel-b1064404.html

I'll believe it when they start actually getting a grip on the issue. We have had numerous announcements of cunning plans over the last 12 years with nothing materialising to solve the problem.

"Patriotic Alternative" were founded by an ex BNP official who has gone on the record many times as being an admirer of Hitler who wants to see all people of colour removed from Britain.
Just accept it - if they DON'T hit the criteria for Far Right, no-one does.

Funny how certain elements concentrate on protesters who are seen as lets say could have underlying reasons for protest not the actual reasons why people are protesting.

It's a way of shutting down the conversation. We saw exactly the same tactics over the Grooming saga - those who protested were branded 'far right', as though that meant that their views were not relevant.

Ah I see, almost like they want to trademark protesting as some sort of tunnel vision. While they protect criminal enterprises in the process.

Funny how certain elements concentrate on protesters who are seen as lets say could have underlying reasons for protest not the actual reasons why people are protesting. I was simply responding to the ridiculous statement that "they're not far right". Were you? I think you were automatically tarring everyone with the same brush. Which creates a negative reaction to why people are actually protesting and their concerns are lost in a sea of confusion.
