On a previous thread i listed the failures of public services, one i left out the police. Those services should be called failure services. And in light of that, it is fair to say that the government is a public service, and by definition will fail. No one can argue with that. It is failing, and has always, dogged by inter party war, inner wars, stupidity, grand standing, ego, flawed beliefs like socialism, communism, green, uncle tom cobbly and all. Free markets also need to be controlled, as well as the civil service, most persons there need to be fired or re trained.
Why not hire specialists to run the government? Free of the own goals above.
And when difficult decisions need to be made, consult history, and a computer generated simulation on the probabilities and consequences.
The problem is there is no organisation that sells such services, yet. Just filtering out the above will mean success is guaranteed. The cost of such will be a fraction of what it is now. It will be particularly effective in money management with the ability to forcast the future and its costs etc.
Someone will say its a professional government now. Ha. So who would these specialists be? I know who redrum would say. Our current system harks back to when barons would act in their own interests, not the country. Only this time its red or blue. We need a dispassionate rule.

Does an independent specialist even exist? I mean one who isn't influenced by an agenda, whether their own or someone else's.

I don't want a professional government. I want the usual bunch of low grade incompetents who leave me along and try out all new taxes in Scotland

It used to be the case that when an MP was promoted into a ministerial role his/her constituents would vote as to whether they wanted him/her to continue as their representative.
