Four men suspected of smuggling migrants into the UK in boats from Belgium have been arrested.
Two Albanian nationals, aged 44 and 48, were detained in Nottingham this morning, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said.
A 46-year-old Irish man was also arrested in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, as well as a 51-year-old Albanian in Hove, east Sussex.
The men are facing allegations they are part of a gang organising people smuggling from the UK to Europe, including a number of crossings last year.
It is alleged they have been involved in acquiring dinghies and using them to travel to Belgium to collect migrants before landing in Margate, Kent.

Actually Handyman, I'm fairly sure outraged lefties will insist that the arrested are in fact, poor downtrodden refugees. And once lefty lawyers get hold of it, they'll probably walk away with compensation and an apology.

In this day and age nothing surprises me any more. I wonder how much it will cost the UK taxpayers in legal aid to help these poor down trodden souls from boken backgrounds and parents of questionable reputation?

It's an offence for which a whole life tariff could be given but of course it won't.

It's an offence for which a whole life tariff could be given but of course it won't. Get a grip. In the unlikely event they are found guilty they will be given very lenient sentences and lefty lawyers at tax payers expense will ensure there is absolutely no chance of them being deported after early release from prison.

If they are convicted IMO the Albanians after serving some time inside will probably be deported back to Albania, then shortly afterwards will grease a few palms be released then set up shop somewhere in the EU or enter the UK again unlawfully and work within the Albanian Crime Syndicate's that have been here for a long time
