I see that the UK politics forum has finally closed down. I joined it in 2012. And I have to say I will miss it.

I see that the UK politics forum has finally closed down. I joined it in 2012. And I have to say I will miss it. I actually forgot that I joined it years ago. A semi random post on another forum sent me looking and I was slightly surprised to find I had an account there …

I see that the UK politics forum has finally closed down. I joined it in 2012. And I have to say I will miss it. I used to like it too. But there were issues. My protection wouldn't let me access it, flagging it up as an unsafe site. Then my server itself wouldn't let me access it for the same reasons. I know that on a previous laptop with inferior protection I got virusses from there. I haven't been able to access the site now for well over a year. I think such issues undermined the site.

It was nothing to do with your laptop or server, the software the site was using was written so long ago that technology had moved on and it was no longer secure. Fox (the owner) had made the decision to spend no time to keep the site up to date so in reality it went on longer than it should.
