Two truisms always come to mind:
"Society gets the policing it deserves" and "The fish rots from the head down".

I mentioned a while back about two cases, one in London the other in Birmingham in which police officers male and female were involved in drug dealing including stealing confiscated drugs from criminals and selling it. All officers in both cases male and female had, how should I word it, Asian names. How wonderfully diverse. Of course some bent police officers are from Anglo Saxon stock, to be expected, they do in spite of 'diversity quotas' make up the vast majority of police officers and it's a fact of life that until the police are robots bent coppers will continue to be a reality.

The stoner copper would confiscate and steal cannabis, and then split the sales profit with another dealer.

Graham Duff's Ideal! You have me at a disadvantage, thank heavens for google. Ahh, BBC, that's why I'm not familiar with the name.

The first couple of seasons were actually quite funny, and may have been the last semi-decent budget comedy the BBC ever did.

It is nothing new sad to say the reality is there have always been bent Officers, as in any other other profession or organisation which brings great shame on the majority who are not

I am not accusing the police officer but it certainly has a whiff of air of a little help from your friends. Fury as killer driver is spared jail for the THIRD time: Ex-Met sergeant's son, 21, who escaped prosecution for killing two men in drug-drive smash and having cannabis stash is spared jail AGAIN for drug driving Max Coopey, 21, killed two pedestrians while drug driving in 2018 He was later found with a £1,000 stash of cannabis at his family's £1million home He appeared in court again yesterday for failure to take a drug test after driving www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11765959/Retired-Met-Police-sergeants-son-21-killed-two-men-drug-drive-smash-spared-jail-AGAIN.html

Typical Daily Mail reporting, though: He "Escaped prosecution" - DM speak for "He wasn't guilty".

Must have taken a bit of scrabbling around in the back of the mind to dredge up a reference to a couple of police officers with Asian-sounding names, while suggesting bent officers with Anglo Saxon sounding names was to be expected. I bet those affected by the activities of David Carrick and Wayne Couzens are hugely comforted by your understanding…

Might depend if he's "on the square" or a member of the Catholic Police Guild.

Back in the 70s the Bristol police had a novel way of dealing with teenage trouble-makers. A police sergeant would have a chat with the lad's father ... and suggest that he should apply to join the police force. Youths who "liked a bit of action" could be trained to become effective cops.
