She played the victim during growler gate, let everybody rally around her, even got the speaker to haul in a newspaper editor... and made them look complete idiots when the newspaper editor provided proof that the story was real... and she was the fucking source of it because she told dirty jokes on a Westminster smoking balcony!! Don't be ridiculous, I am not defending hate speech, I'm just looking for the honest facts of the matter. Which is extremely difficult once Tory propaganda gets a grip. IIRC her joke was in response to something a Tory who MP made a comment and she was attempting to turn the situation into a joke, then the crap Tory propaganda stepped in. I'll answer the rest later its time for me to go out. I actually quite like her, but she fucked up with repeated "Tory Scum" language, and she fucked up big time during Growlergate. You are way off on Growlergate. She denied the entire story, to such an extent that the Speaker tried to drag the editor of the MoS in to explain himself. The editor politely refused and pointed out that she was actually the origin of the story via "that joke". That doesn't excuse the story, it was in very bad taste. The facts are that she sat on her hands and allowed a witch hunt to form on her behalf and she left her supporters looking like compete fools when the source of the story turned out to be her own mouth, not some misogynistic Tories. She then unbelievable sat on her hands again during Beergate, by not mentioning she was 6 feet away from the beer swigging Starmer!! |

My original understanding remains, that none of this story would have evolved but for the insinuation by a Tory MP that Rayner was deliberately crossing and uncrossing her legs in order to distract Boris during PMs questions. |
