The only party in clown world that is willing to admit it is mad. But you need to be careful. They thought jesters were mad too, and look how they turned out in Shakespeare plays.
With an energy manifesto like this, how can they lose?
Energetic Manicfesto proposals 1st September 22
In order to help with the Energy crisis we propose 1. We will get rid of the Energy Price Cap and replace it with a Top Hat (This will also help our Millenery Industry) 2. We will get rid of all Standing Charges. (We are quite capable of sitting down and freezing to death) 3. All the hot air spoken in Parliament will be redirected to the Gas Distribution Networks.

Apparently they want to dilute the water in case of a drought.

Brilliant idea! Add fruit juice to it for pizazz and shoot all bad politicos out of a circus cannon!

I had the pleasure of being canvassed by Screaming Lord Sutch himself, back when I lived in Sunny Jim Callaghan’s constituency and he had not yet been required to declare the constituency in which he was to stand.
He struck me as neither raving, nor monstrous.
In fact he seemed rather well versed on matters of the day.
In more recent times I had the pleasure of being entertained at the Brecon Fringe by the party’s ‘Minister of Misinformation’ who has a day job as a rock (?) musician in a band called The Big Fibbers. Again I suppose some, maybe many, might find his music not to their taste but i found him competent enough at the job, certainly more competent as a musician than Matt Hancock is as a politician.
On a serious note though …
The right of anyone above the age of majority who in some cases also meets certain residency criteria to stand as a candidate for public office is something lots of people died to establish. Many mock the likes of this bunch, but if you think you can do better, go stand in the street and declare yourself the prospective candidate for wherever and hold up a dayglo bucket for donations.
You may be surprised how many throw you a quid.
And occasionally, as was shown in Tatton a few years back, we need the right of the little man to stand up and call out corruption for what it is.

Absolutely. I have been a big fan of the MRLP forever. They'd make a far better job of running the country than the political class. Behind all that jokery there is a sense of what really needs doing. To me, they are like the jesters of old. Smart people dressed up in hat bells and tights but possessed of greater minds than the courtiers they had to entertain.

I was asked to stand as a UKIP candidate a few years ago, OK it probably shows how desperate they were, but it was nice to be asked.

It would appear that in recent years much of the membership of the Monster Raving Loony party has infiltrated the Tory party and risen to high levels within it. This forum is a constant reminder that Tories and their supporters are a bunch of loonies.

And Labour & the Lib Dems aren't?
The good thing about democracy is we can sack Tories, we can sack Labour, we can sack Lib Dems, we, the public, have votes. The politicians work for us.
We elect them, we pay them, we can sack them. They have to listen to us. Even to you.
