I've just half woken up with a bitch in my earhole. Radio 4 a moment ago had a Labour rep on who went ballistic. I don't know if you have ever made a bad error with a computer, but sometimes you can do the wrong thing and they just go bonkers and almost self destruct, like spewing forth mega amounts of random gibberish, and no key presses will stop it. Eventually it was the end of the programme and they pulled the plug, but just before that happened there was an admission that Labour are going to change the regs preventing so much striking. Tories are going the other way and bringing in some minimum service contracts which sound like a way to keep the country working this winter in the threat of an all out 70s situation. Incidently the wrong key pressed on why this bitch flipped out was a Tory asking how are you going to pay for these wage rises, and the other one was are you going to join them on the picket lines. It was probably PMT, but the kind that causes a bloke's mobile to be slung through a glass window.

You can re-listen to it on the I-player if you carry a BBC licence. It was on a few moments before I posted the OP. That was a serious Labour freakout, and one reason you'd never trust them to run anything - like they can't even run their own mouths properly. Anyhow there is just a quick reference to a way they want to pass some legislation so if you work for a firm it makes it easier to get a strike together. As it is, Thatcher brought in a load of legislation to limit union power, so presumably this is what we are looking at them cancelling. For example they have to hold a vote and follow some procedures to make a strike lawful.

It would help if you'd say which programme, who was on it and what you suppose he actually said as opposed to your paraphrasing

It would help if you'd say which programme, who was on it and what you suppose he actually said as opposed to your paraphrasing I do not know the names. I only caught the ending of it, but it was two women and one or two men, and it was one of these men who was the Tory who sounded a little bit like Dominic Cummings, but I can't imagine it being him. He had a rather matter of fact directness about his comments.
