Apologies if this has been covered before, did a quick search and found nothing talking to someone and they mentioned this I didn’t even realise what was happening or the ramifications, despite all the assurances might as well be tattooed with a barcode at birth. Anyway there is a consultation period for this finishes in March surveys.domains.gov.uk/s/C0ZD81/After which the Orwell act will quietly come in to law, should we be bothered? I think so.

Have you tried filling in that survey? It's been widely criticised for being intentionally too complicated. This was mentioned in a thread a few days ago, actually, Neil oliver had a rant about it on GB News. The Digital Economy Act is the biggest threat yet to free speech in this country, and moves us one step closer to a social credit system, as seen in China. Yet no one knows anything about it.

Thanks Red I did do a search but not well enough, still getting my head around forum features. Slowly but surely we are being entangled by a digital world of control which can all go wrong in various ways as you alluded to in the failed atm post. Increasingly there are places that won’t or don’t want to accept cash and every transaction can be traced back to individuals, again in you car thread it’s the same, anpr cameras too, your mobile phone all leave a map of where you’ve been and what you do. Separately it can all seem innocent but add it all together and then how that can be used against you or exploited by being sold should have people worried but it seems to be done behind the scenes and by the time all the plebs realise it will be too late.

We are without doubt sleepwalking into a surveillance society, if I mention it to some people they laugh. Yet they all carry hand held trackers 24/7 and think nothing of it. Some of them order and pay for drinks in the pub via their hand held trackers and think nothing of it. It's not just mobile phones, as you say ANPR cameras are not just used by police to catch villains, they are used by councils to monitor us. Store loyalty cards and a cashless society are massive issues that people seem blissfully unaware of. The digital/surveillance economy is comming and as I said, people are sleep walking into it and that's largely by design to be fair.
