Only a couple of days ago the BoE boss was U turning about recession forecasts.
Britain faces being ONLY G7 country in recession this year… with even Russia doing better: IMF tips UK to plunge into the red amid cost-of-living hell - as Jeremy Hunt swipes forecast might be wrong and bats away Tory demands for early tax cuts
IMF forecasts that the UK will be the weakest major economy over this year Even sanctions-hit Russia expected to stay in the black after slump in 2022

Assuming WWIII does not break out I expect this summer for people to get out more post COV-ID and so this should lift the country a bit. If tourism improves too that will help.

www.elibrary.imf.org/downloadpdf/book/9781557757012/C01.pdfAn interesting document. Privacy marked copyright iMF and not for redistribution yet on the public face of their server and searchable by Google from whom I found it with a search for ‘imf prediction success rate’ The executive summary says it all with its admission that there are problems applying predictions to developing countries and that across the board the success rate of imf predictions is ‘not improving over time’
