Let's get real! The Lammy is talking BRINO. (BJ, the ERG and their fellow Brexit purists on this forum must be foaming at the mouth.)

Labour will put an end to the “magical thinking” of the Conservative Government by fixing the “bad Brexit deal” in a bid to boost trade and security cooperation, the Shadow Foreign Secretary has said.
David Lammy said reconnecting with the EU would be a future Labour government’s biggest foreign policy priority, as he once again ruled out rejoining the customs union or the single market.
In a speech at Chatham House in London, Mr Lammy said: “It has been a central principle of British strategy for centuries that we should never find ourselves isolated in our own continent. But that is exactly what this Government has done.”
The Shadow cabinet minister said Labour is “not afraid” to speak about the “damage the Government’s bad Brexit deal has done to our economy”.
“Investment down, growth sluggish or non-existent, 45 per cent of businesses say they are having difficulties trading with the EU, the number exporting to Europe has fallen by a third.
Should they return to power, Labour would seek to fix the Northern Ireland protocol, reduce friction in the trade of agrifood, medical and veterinary goods, strengthen mutual recognition of professional qualifications and standards as well as use the 2025 review of the Brexit trade agreement to further cut barriers to imports and exports.
He also vowed to unblock UK’s participation in the Horizon scientific research scheme, and improve links between universities and students.
Mr Lammy said the UK needed to thrash out a new security pact with Europe was essential, insisting the Europeans are more than “just trading partners” in the face of war in Ukraine, growing tensions in Kosovo and the threat of domestic terrorism.
Labour’s foreign policy would put “pragmatism over ideology”, and would make decisions that “advance the British public’s security and prosperity – not the ideological purity of the ERG” in reference to the Tory Brexiter caucus.
