Don't worry mate lessons will be learnt over this very sad story and no-one will get a kicked arse as per usual.... And who do you think should get a kicked arse? And why? Why didn't the social workers take the police reports seriously for starters? This happens time and time again and the usual wankers get off with the excuse that lessons have been learnt.
Winham is believed to have died in November 2017, just weeks after police officers who visited the flat over a minor issue reported concerns to social services about her clear self-neglect, the lack of food in the flat and her seeming unawareness of access to local care services
Despite being informed by the police that Winham’s phone was not working, adult social care teams tried to call her. They subsequently wrote to her with details of local food banks and contact details for support organisations. The case was closed after two weeks, with no welfare check made.
Winham’s family believe agencies missed at least two earlier potential chances to intervene.

I thought people with schizophrenia were called on (say) weekly by social workers (care in the community or similar)

It makes no difference to the woman whether she was found 10 minutes after she died or 10 years after she died. She's dead, either way. However, the longer the delay the more the soul searching of the people who lived around her and the resulting self flagellation. It's her family that must feel the self flagellation the most.
It's just pretty sad - and lessons won't be learned, as society is actually in decay.

Hmmm, yeah, maybe. But this woman appears to have actively avoided the very people who could have helped her.
She should really have been in some kind of asylum but we don't do that any more and unfortunate lunatics are generally just left to fend for themselves, which sometimes they don't.
And then the family blame everyone but themselves.
Sad, but there it is.

But the police were concerned and told the authorities her phone was not working so they tried to phone her FFS......Oh and they wrote her........Why was this not followed up with a visit?.......They filed her case after 14 days and that was that as far as they were concerned........I am not supporting the family in anyway as they will try and milk it for all its worth with their faux concerns...
