As well as inducing an attack of nausea. I have the three ton, it is just that the thought of spending it make me feel sick. Plus, I would be interested in finding out how or even if the battery can be rebuilt.

Nice to have you here Borkie. (Dyna from P-T.com) Hope you can find out how to fix it, no clue I'm afraid. Had a quick read around and it sounds like they put blocks to prevent repair of such batteries, but I could be wrong. It may be possible to let it charge to 100% (yes, you've likely already tried this) and leave it for a while and then it might hold more charge?

You haven't given a lot of information to be able to answer the question, however.... Assuming it is a battery made up of multiple individual cells of a standard type - say 18650 cells for example, then sure you might be able to crack open the case, buy replacement cells and then rebuild. Would it save you money, who knows. You've said its a 24v battery but what is the capacity in mAh / Ah.

I have had a look on Youtube and it all seems to boil down the insulating having broken down which means replacing the cells, which is the same as buying a new battery. It would have been fun to rebuild the battery, but the PM has put up the Christmas coal allowance so I might as spend the money on a new one.

Not sure but think i read somewhere they can replace the cells. It can be done as long as the cells are not potted. Most manufacturers build their batteries then encapsulate them in epoxy resin which just turns them into one big solid mass.
These people are a great source and could possibly steer you in the right direction.
