Do any of you find yourselves seeing things left over from covid?
Episodes of TV game shows where the people are are clearly separated.
Old tape on floors showing you 2 mtrs apart
Its surreal don't you think. Or is it that third glass of Glen Figick thingy.

Odd reminders of a time when we weren't allowed to leave home except under certain rules. My business was shut for nigh on 20 months, perhaps that's why I find it more profound than the majority?

The foot and mouth restrictions helped to destroy my business along with 911 and thee SARS travel restrictions. Could have survived one but all three became the perfect storm for a major slump in sales as we relied on walkers and ex pats returning.

No, sold on the internet for a few years then my wife retired, one of the last at 60 and I was happy to pull back and we sold at Steam Rallies, Country Fairs, Highland Games, Galas and Craft fairs. Now just car boot sales as a hobby.

The anti car brigade seized upon the pox to restructure streets to ban cars forever. Cardiff City Centre is now unapproachable by car and I trust it will go bust soon as a result, like Newport which has the highest percentage of empty shops in the UK I was VERY lucky in that the business that furloughed me and the rest of their permanent workforce of 150, and terminated the contracts of the 300 agency Eastern Europeans they had at the conveyor belts didn’t bother restarting me so I started looking round and a challenger bank offered me a job at a much increased salary. I believe those immigrant temp agency workers spent an unpleasant time trying to paddle back across the channel as no official route was open to them and no furlough funds came their way I don’t know if the Chinese owned plant in question survived. The markings in town however have a particular meaning to me as they remind me of the fight I had to walk to each, and later cycle to each, as I fought back from Long Covid and the stroke. To this day I find it hard to cycle more than 9 miles when I used to complete a 30 mile round trip for the sheer hell of it.

We sold our premises there for flats so we needed somewhere new, but the planning office wont consider anything outside the town centre and they have made that a nightmare to get to. They don't seem to understand its hard enough to make a buck without adding problems. I'm sorry you are one of Covids victims as we learn more it does seem that many like you do eventually recover completely, so there is hope. Fingers Crossed. Glad you found a new job.

I think ‘complete’ recovery is beyond many myself included.
I live thanks to a cocktail of ten different drugs taken daily. I doubt I will live to see my existing grand daughter graduate. And all thanks to a fucking illegal immigrant who brought the pox to the immigration tribunal his fucking lawyers provided by my taxes demanded he have instead of being summarily shot and his body burned as a health risk as Kim Jong StoopidFuckunHaircut had done to anyone trying to enter North Korea. Or so he said.
But at least I still live today. Two of Moira’s co workers in that courtroom died as a result of that bastard getting a hearing.
I’d love to know where he is now …
Were I a Ukrainian the need for those pills mean I would be dead without Putin needing to fire a shot.
Were I am American I would be dead through having to choose to pay the pharmacist or pay the supermarket as no one in the game I was in has the insurance needed to fund that level of health provision.
