Cant find anything on their website about it - although it is one of the worst designed websites I've come across. An appalling mish-mash of woke psycho babble.

There are two schools of thought on this. Millions of people are convinced that there are million of claimants who get thousands of pounds a week and a free car. There are also millions of genuine, sick, unemployed and claimants who don't know what they can claim because the DWP don't tell them. And while mentioning the DWP we shouldn't forget they have their own little scams to make claiming as difficult possible. And I can tell you truthfully from a disabled friend's experience this includes fraudulently altering claim forms so as to make it appear that the claimant doesn't qualify for welfare. There also reports of people starving to death or committing suicide because they lose the benefits they should get. There is a film called "I, Daniel Blake." which tells the composite story of a claimant, directed by Ken Loach who made "Cathy come Home." www.bing.com/search?q=i+daniel+blake&form=ANNTH1&refig=0f2115c384794799bf437948d8c2da37

I could claim carer's allowance but one of the requirements is that you need help getting onto the loo. I have to admit that getting there on time is something of an adventure, but so far I have always managed to clamber on unaided.

My father in law would have had to pay his own care fees if they'd had their way. Fortunately, and entirely for family interest, my stepdaughter videod him walking the night before they dropped him and he broke his hip.

Minimum Income Advocates point to a Scandinavian model but fail to mention this was dreamt up to facilitate the startup of artisans / self employed, giving them a guaranteed income until their fledgling business returned enough to survive on
The other thing most advocates fail to mention is the eye watering degree of taxation in that country.
The other thing I feel I should remind people is the fact it is illegal to be paid less than the tax and NI Thresholds in this country for a full time job. And by a significant margin. The hand that gives will happily be taking away …

The minimum income idea has been doing the rounds for years. It's hardly news.
