UK’s economy unexpectedly grows and reduces risk of recession. The UK economy unexpectedly grew in November and reduced the risk of the country entering a recession, according to official figures. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) recorded an increase of 0.1% as the services sector remained in growth despite the soaring cost of living. Experts said the slight rise was supported by the technology sector and a strong showing by pubs and bars amid a boost from the winter World Cup in Qatar. Retailers report stronger than expected earnings reports for Q4 over the past week, and it appears a stronger than expected consumer services and services more broadly have helped the UK economy defy gloomy expectations. Meanwhile Rachel Reeves, Labour’s shadow Chancellor, was as expected very sniffy. She said the small growth was nothing to celebrate. metro.co.uk/2023/01/13/uks-economy-unexpectedly-grows-and-reduces-risk-of-recession-18093043/I can almost hear left wing remainiacs hissing under their breath - damn you world cup, grrrrr.

It's still piss poor, but it does seems to be heading in the right direction. I think Rishi has a far better understanding of the economy than those Labour bitches.
