So Stammer and Labour have come up with a Cunning Plan to reduce NHS waiting lists, who advised him Baldrick ? FFS the NHS have been sending NHS patients to Private Hospital for years , my Mother over 20 years ago waited in pain for 7 years on an NHS waiting list for a knee replacement , eventually when she was house bound the NHS finally sent her to a Private Hospital to have it done, within 10 days she could walk again pain free.
The Private Hospital my wife works in has been carrying out surgical procedures on NHS patients for years, last Saturday just gone wife was in Theatre the NHS had organised for 12 of their patients to have Cataracts removed, in the other theatre NHS patients were being operated on to repair torn shoulder tendons and ligaments and two hip replacements, all done to reduce NHS waiting list, as the NHS cannot keep up with the huge demand on it 24/7.
Time the Politicians got to together stop using the NHS to score points off their political opponents, and reorganised the entire NHS from top to bottom to make it more efficient cut out the waste, and give the taxpayers value for our money.

Agree 100%. There needs to be an analysis of the relative costs of employing agency medical staff, and using private healthcare facilities when the NHS becomes overburdened. NHS patients have been routinely treated privately for years round here, particularly for cataracts. Seems to me that if a more regular arrangement could be arrived at, both sectors (and more importantly, patients) would benefit. But that would only be part of a total NHS audit and repair… |

Exactly mate. The NHS are just used as a politcal football by all parties and a bloody expensive one at that and not only are patients the losers so are the UK taxpayers. |
