More jobs moving to England, I mentioned McVities yesterday, if Scotland under its Marxist leftie SNP regime continues like this there will be no unemployment in England at all. A sad loss of jobs. However you failed to mention that two sites in England are also closing. The two new ones will help address overall job losses as posts will be created at the new centres but, these will be offset by the closure of the present sites which will create higher unemployment in those areas. Reading the BBC article, Amazon fails to say what their plan is except for state of the art robotic technology being used. This, in itself, will mean job losses in 'fetching and carrying' within the massive warehouses. New 'roles' will have to be created to offset those losses but the company is remaining tight lipped about this matter. The new English sites are some miles away from the older warehousing centres. How many people will be able to up sticks and move given the low wages and in some cases zero hours contracts? The chances of people commuting are remote as a result of the distances involved between new and old fulfilment centres. There are other Amazon sites in Scotland but how many of the 300 employees could be absorbed? How many are employed at the five Delivery Stations and how many vacancies are there? Then there is the massive facility in Dunfermline but that is 66 miles away from Gourock. It is bad news for an area with few other job opportunities but it is just as bad news for the two areas, in England, where Amazon are shutting down.

Amazon are getting rid of 18,000 staff worldwide.
I was focussing on the Scotland story because this is the Scotland board and England is not news on here.

Yes that is correct Morayloon, the two Amazon bases in England have nearby other bases, 12 miles from Doncaster I think, and another one near the other base, however, the jobs in Gourock are not lost, all staff will be offered relocation packages to move south if they so wish. Retraining will be offered as well.

They will also be allocated packages to move east to Dunfermline, as they would have problems moving south because of pot holes in the road in England. Back to trolling the net for more shite. I am sure you will come up with something. Can you tell me why or how the Scots have made you so hate filled. .
