So Kwarteng has gone and Jeremy Hunt will come in as the “safe pair of hands” reassuring chancellor. Not a bad choice.
Truss whole agenda has been blown out of the water and is surely now a not just lame but legless duck. She is seen as extremely unlikely to fight the next election. It’s a toss up whether she goes before or after Christmas. Sunak looks most likely to be next to take the hot seat.
Incidentally in all of British political history, since 2019 we have seen the second third and fourth shortest serving Chancellors. The only one shorter died in post. Truss may well be the shortest serving PM EVER.
It’s an utter shitshow at a time when we need realism pragmatism and stability. Time for a change.

The Tories are a joke.
For the sake of the country and their own sake call an election.

Chris Philp , Kwasi deputy also sacked. Is 39 days a record? For an alive chancellor yes Iain McLeod sadly died after just 30 days in office.

Apart from McLeod who died, Kwarteng takes the shortest ever chancellorship from Zadawi who took it from Javid - all in this parliament.
Fecking shambles.
