There is a world wide shortage of phosphate fertiiisers ... which is placing the planet's food supply at risk. This lack of phosphates could cause major problems for countries that have to import phosphates as countries with phosphate deposits (like China) are limiting their exports. It is said that in a few decades time MOROCCO will have a major influence on the world's food supply ... as 75% of the world's phosphate reserves are found there. The saying is: "Morocco will control the world!" Just as there was the concern about "Peak oil" .. the oil supply running out ... now there is a concern about "peak phosphate" limiting the world's ability to feed it's ever increasing population. |
