Yet it still bugs you that Boris can earn more in a few hours than you've made in a lifetime. Sounds like envy to me. Stop whining. Whos whining ? Its what they all do once their lies catch up, not just Boris.

The Politics of Envy and Hatred two burdens I would not carry around with me every day, Boris earned that money people obviously wanted to hear what he had to say, yes he will have to pay tax on his earnings, which as has already been stated will be far more in one hit than anyone in here will pay this year or over several years.
Perhaps Boris should give up working retire live off what he may have saved over the years and not pay much if any tax at all, and of course he would not be libel for NI so not contributing to the state

It's hard to not argue against the suspicion that large portion of these kind of payments to politicians for non-services are essentially back payments for services rendered while in power. It is an obvious way of laundering the payment so it can't be identified as corruption.
Such an arrangement is obviously not in the public interest, but i'm also not sure what can be done about it.

LOL are you for real, Boris is way down the list of top earners after leaving number 10. Ever heard of Anthony Blair? He made £1 million a month on the after dinner speaking circuit. Blair became the worlds highest paid after dinner speaker earning £6000 a minute at one point. Boris! lol, he's got a long way to go before he catches up with Blair.

Well I'll argue A senior director in a best not named V large company explained it to me once. He'd gone to one of their annual top management sessions and hey ho Blair was there to do some very fat paid for speech and crucially to have pictures taken shaking hands with the CEO. All the cost was billed to the company but the whole thing was just a vanity project for the CEO who could sign it off as supposedly inspirational speech giving. He said 'it'll be the same next year' and guess what a year later he said it happened again (I can't recall who the speaker was) I will say neither the CEO or the company concerned was British

Well that’s the question then. What are they paying for ? If I thought it was all their money to spend then I’d say so what ?

If I thought it was all their money to spend then I’d say so what ? To get closer to solving that question you would do well to look at say what business these customers of Johnson's bullshit are in. Ironically, one of the big spenders was a kind of industrial representative body of the insurance industry over in the US and are known to be big political donors to both their parties. You'll have to work it out. Perhaps Johnson, being an accident waiting to happen, helped increase the market for insurance policies.
